Answer:	I am not sure. I bought this to remove the oil filter on a John Deere tractor, which is 7" in diameter, and it works fine.

Answer:	I'm not 100% sure I would say around 1/16 diameter (give or take a touch). I haven't had to use them in a very long time. Handled the 3" Diameter split ring, I had to reinstall, no problem.
