This is a CNC machined aluminum adapter designed to mount inline into a 1.5" ID radiator hose. This adapter allows you to put a temperature sensor with 3/8 NPT threads in your radiator hose. This could be useful if you are looking to add an auxiliary water temperature gauge or fan control kit but do not have a port in the intake manifold or water pump to mount the sensor.



The adapter also includes installation instructions, two stainless steel hose clamps, a stainless steel grounding screw along with a quick-disconnect electrical terminal to make it easy to provide an engine ground to your sensor.



To install the adapter, you simply cut your radiator hose in the location where you want to mount the adapter, slip it in place, and use the supplied hose clamps to tighten it down. Your temperature sensor screws into the threaded port. You will need to consult the documentation for the sensor you are using to determine if it requires a ground or not. Some sensors provide their own ground - these usually have two or more wires. Other sensors get their ground through the body of the sensor itself - these usually only have one wire. If a sensor does not provide its own ground, you will need to provide it with one by connecting a wire between the sensor (or the adapter) and a convenient ground source such as a bolt on your engine. If a ground is necessary, you can use the provided grounding screw. A quick-disconnect for the ground is also included.



This adapter will work in any vehicle which has a 1 1/2" ID radiator hose that has about four inches worth of straight section for the adapter to be mounted in. The threads in the adapter are 3/8 NPT. (A 1/8 NPT version of this adapter is also available.)

Answer:	It looks like you might be able to change them. There is a screw on each jaw. The dies look like they are sitting in a groove or channel.

Answer:	You would have to contact the manufacture of the product to know for sure but I will say this; I don't know why you would ever have a need to. I don't see how the "die" could ever become worn out as they are a much harder material than the wire ends being applied and apply only straight compression pressure when crimping the wire ends on to the wire. Answer:	From what I have read, the 3/8" NPT standard calls for the threads to be spaced at 18 per inch. So 3/8-NPT and 3/8-18NPT are the same. A sealant is also called for. I used some silicone to get a leak-free seal. There was coolant dripping out before I cleaned it up and applied the silicone. You want to be sure that you do not end up insulating your sensor from the adapter.

Answer:	I believe the 330i uses a 1.25" radiator hose, so unfortunately this 1.5" version would be too large, unless you were to use a 1.25" to 1.5" adapter on either side, along with a piece of 1.5" hose to mount it in. If you want to verify the diameter, you can loosen the hose clamp at either end and carefully slide the hose down a bit. (You shouldn't lose any coolant as long as you don't pull it completely off.) You just need to move it a a quarter to a half inch or so, in order to be able to see and measure the diameter.

Question:	What is the id of the connector / od of the pipe it fits
Answer:	No, not for gas or coolant. These tubes are pure silicon, meaning there are no fiber belts like in rubber gas line hoses. Also, the 12 mm hole (largest) has a thinner relative wall thickness, meaning it collapses under 20 in/hg of vacuum. I was using that size for my main vac and brake booster (not good), so I changed those hoses to reinforced rubber. The others are still awesome though.
