- 【OEM O-RING】You are probably experiencing a power steering whine in cold temps < 60F, which goes away as the engine compartment gets warm. The culprit is the o-ring on the PS pump inlet pipe. The o-ring has become glazed & lost it's original elasticity so it's contracting more than spec and allowing air to enter the pump when the temps drop. The fix is simple, replace the o-ring.

| Question: | How did you guys get the shaft to fit into the gearbox? Seems like the shaft is too big, even with the bolt ran down. I’m installing on 86 Monte Carlo |
| Answer: | I installed mine on a C10 and I had to spread the clamp apart a little to get it to fit the shaft in the column. I also had to shorten the shaft a little with a propane torch just enough to melt the plastic. Once it cooled the plastic will retain its purpose. On the gearbox itself, mine just barely fit. I’ve installed these on several trucks but never a car. I have seen them installed on Monty’s before so I know it can be done. It may depend on the year you’re installing it on. Good luck! |
| Question: | what are the inner dimensions of the ends ? are they splined? if so how many |
| Answer: | One end is a doubled D shape, the other end is splined with a flat spot for locating. Used mine to get rid of the rag joint on a gm truck |
