Most bumpers are plastic and will look black, we recommend applying primer before using the base paint because it will not adhere properly without the primer. It looks like you have a tricoat and it is important to understand that you have two different colors (base and mid paint). The base paint typically carries most of the pigment while the mid paint has the pearl/metallic flakes that are laid over the base coats. You will need 2-3 cans of the primer, base paint, mid-coat, and clear coat to cover the entire bumper since it is a 1:1 ratio. If you have other questions just let us know.
