Question: How much of the gallon do you use in a 15 quart Diesel engine when you change the oil and filter
Answer: 4 quarts in a gallon.. You are using 15 quarts which is about 3.75 gal. of diesel oil. On the bottle it says put in 20% or 1 qt stabilizer for 4 quarts of motor oil (total = 5 quarts).. So, about 4 quarts stabilizer or 1 gal. for your big diesel sir.. I'd substitute a gal. of stabilizer for 1 gal of diesel oil.. Remember to substitute the gal (2.75 gal. of diesel oil) and add one gal. of stabilizer = 3.75gal.
Question: how much do I put in at my next oil change? I have a toyota 4runner 5quarts. Thanks

Question: Will this product freeze if left in an engine that's just sitting in freezing weather for several weeks
Answer: The date on the bottom of the can is the production date, not the expiration date
Question: Hello how liters of engine will this treat? I have about 36 liters in my truck
Answer: There is no way of telling if your vehicle engine has sludge unless you take it apart completely. The best way is to use a professional grade oil cleaner such BG EPR. I've seen engines that had an oil change every 3000 miles and after adding the BG EPR; the oil turned black.
Question: Does this seal oil filter gasket leaks if left slightly loose
Answer: Yes. Absolutely. My BG rep. states and I quote"if you really wanted to you could use it every oil change beginning at 5,000 miles. I only really recommend it every 15,000 though in my experience

User questions & answers

Question: I can use it without an oil change
Answer: We were wondering that same thing. We thought we were getting 12 and only got one. Not happy at all.
Question: Has any one noticed improvement in oil consumption
Answer: 5W40 Motor Oil Suitable for VW/Audi 500.00/501.01/ 502.00/505.00/505.01, BMW LL-01, water-cooled Porsche A40 and Mercedes-Benz 229.1/229.3/229.5 applications
Question: So what does this do to the oil? Your engine? And how does it help a 6.4 liter power stroke
Answer: As long as your engine is still stock you are better to use the proper grade oil. Ford recommends 5w20 in most their applications. You “MAY” still get your noise to quite down and or go away by using redlines 5w20. Their oils tend to be in the upper limits of the accepted viscosity ranges. They also use a very robust additive pack.
Question: What is the difference between this and the lucas 10001 heavy duty oil stabilizer
Answer: Overkill in my opinion. It’s an Ester based oil, which Nissan didn’t start recommending until 2008.

Answer: Yes, you receive 4 one gallon jugs for this price.
Question: Would this fix a low egr flow check engine light

User questions & answers

Question: I have a 4.3 liter volvo penta i/o boat engine that has a small leak. i use 20w-40 oil. can i use this in a boat engine runs up to 4500 rpms
Answer: you of course can use it, but will it fix your leak no, it will slow it down but will not stop it. lucas oil products are nothing more than super thick oil kinda of like pouring very thick gear oil into your engine. you are using a very thin oil, i would think because of high rpms & heat your oil needs to move fast & freely to keep all parts lubed. talk to a penta dealer but i'm guessing they will tell to fix the leak correctly with a new gasket or replacement part to cure the leak
Question: Can i use both this and the lucas oil stabilizer at the same time
Answer: I pulled this info from the vendor.Use Lucas Oil Stabilizer in gear oil to stop leaks, reduce operating temperatures and increase the life of the gear oil. Since it is pure petroleum, it can safely blend with all other automotive lubricants, even synthetics, ATF and mineral oil. It keeps old engines alive and new engines new.
Question: questions: Does this need to be added every oil change like other products? Is it really thick like Motor Honey? Thanks
Answer: No, you don't need to replace it on every oil change. This additive mixes with your motor oil and coats the inside of the engine as well as the seals (where usually the leaks comes from). As I've mentioned before don't overfill this two mixture (your motor oil & Lucas Stop Leak) beyond your engine's capacity. Once you've drained your old oil and replaced the drain plug & new oil filter on your vehicle carefully add the Stop Leak then the additional motor oil, checking on the dip stick every now and then while adding them, so as not you won't overfill the engine.'Motor Honey', I haven't come across this product. Is this just a figure of speech?
Question: how do I use lucas oil stop leak
Answer: When you change your oil put the stop leak Quart in in place of 1 of the Quarts of oil, then drive regular till next oil change.Unless your leak is extreme Lucas will stop the leak. I've used all the Lucas products for years in my cars and my 18 wheeler before i retired. Now i still use it in my personal vehicles. Love that Lucas!

Lucas Oil LUC10020 Fuel Treatment - 5.25 Oz

Lucas Oil

Based on 3 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Lucas Fuel treatment complies with the federal low sulfur content requirements for use in diesel motor vehicles and non-road, locomotive and marine diesel equipment engines. A powerful blend of oils and additives that contain no solvents. Designed to increase power and fuel mileage and also lower exhaust emissions through a more complete combustion. Formulated for both gasoline and diesel engines, carbureted and fuel injected. It gives your fuel system what it really needs - a blend of super slick oils and additives with a high detergent action that allows the engine to operate at maximum efficiency. Also, it cleans and lubricates the carburetor and injectors and causes the fuel to burn more thoroughly for increased power and less fuel consumption. Lucas Fuel Treatment should definitely be used in vehicles that require leaded fuel because it actually replaces the benefits of lead in gasoline without causing harmful emissions. Use it to pass smog tests. Finally, it totally neutralizes the harmful effects of low sulfur diesel fuel.

  • The product is 5, 25 ounces, fuel treatment, for gasoline LPG and diesel fuel, contains no alcohol/solvents/kerosene/diesel fuel, lubricates rings and cylinder walls for longer life, increases mileage, cleans and lubricates valves, pumps, carburetors, and injectors
  • Easy and simple use kit
  • The product is manufactured in China
  • A great tune-up in a bottle
  • Cleans and lubricates the fuel system
  • Neutralizes low sulfur fuel problems
  • Increases power and miles per gallon by burning excess exhaust emissions
  • Increases the life of pumps and injectors

User questions & answers

Question: How often can you use
Answer: I use this on every fill up because it lubricates the upper cylinder which increases my gas mileage by about 9%. So it definitely pays for itself. Tho I buy it a gallon at a time and use the smaller bottle to pour into my gas tank. Also, I only put about 7 or 8oz in a 20 gallon tank. Too much of this stuff actually lowers gas mileage. I know from personal experience. If you're looking for a one-per-year cleaner, you really need to look at Techron. This Lucas Oil fuel treatment isn't a strong enough cleaner to use only once per year. I use Techron every other oil change to keep injectors and whatnot clean, but use this Lucas Oil treatment for MPG gains only (from lubricant affects).
Question: Can i Use this in a Toyota corolla 2006? and how often should I use it
Answer: My Toyota dealer sells this product in their service dept
Question: Can I use this in my 2012 kia sorento
Answer: You have to add this before you fill your vehicle up. That way the very action of the pump pumping gas into your vehicle mixes up the Lucas Oil. You don't want to put it in after you filled your gas tank
Question: Will it help remove P0420 code
Answer: 2 bottles of Lucas oil, one gas refill apart, helped with my P0420 Code on Infiniti QX60 engine light. With the 2nd bottle, the light was gone. It worked like a charm. I will continue to keep the fuel tank clean moving forward. Tip : don't wait for the fuel tank to be completely empty before you refill.

Answer: Every fill up
Question: I have a bottle of the upper cylinder lubricant with injector cleaners and fuel conditioners, so is this only for gas or can it be added to the oil

Question: Whats difference between this and the fuel treatment 5 oz
Answer: I don't know of any difference to be honest., I've been using this in my gas tank for the past 12 years in our 27 year old car and it runs great! I use it monthly!

User questions & answers

Question: To everyone who has used this oil did yoh buy the sae 30w or the 20/50 breakin oil
Answer: I ordered SAE 30 and received 20w-50
Question: is this non-detergent oil ? better for seating piston rings
Answer: Yes... this is a high-zinc break-in oil. Used for helping to seat the rings on an old school, flat-tappet engine. If you're running a full roller lifter set up, this may be a bit of preventative overkill, but it's cheap insurance. I run it for 500 miles then change to a oil designed for older hot rods (i.e.: contains zinc). Lucas also makes an excellent "Hot Rod & Classic" oil in 10w30 and 10w40 once you've broken things in. Note that these oils are NOT for modern engines and/or cars with catalytic-equipped emissions controls.
Question: How long do you run this oil
Answer: Called Lucus oil, they said for my Jeep L 4, at first start keep the RPMs up at med high for 5 minutes and don’t let up. Then run Jeep normally for 800 miles then change oil .
Question: Will this work for a Diesel engine
Answer: 40w is more common for diesel engines.
