Answer:	The dash backlight LED can be powered separate from the actual switched device, but the “ON” LED is powered only through the input that also feeds the device. If you need it isolated from that, use a relay.

Answer:	Yes, it does have a place to hook up 2 wires. However, they are kinda of close. I think it is designed to hook up 2 lights on the bumper where they are only a couple of feet apart. It is not a big deal, you can just make your pig tails to the light a little longer to meet your needs. I used on the windshild hinge mounted lights and just made my light pig tails about a foot long each and it worked great.
