Answer:	The Ancra "original" is the original design. It is a very simple tie down with a hook on each end. Other designs have a soft loop, this one does not. I've been using Ancra original tie downs since the 80's. They are the best.

Answer:	I own about 100 pair of Ancra tie downs. They are the best of all tie downs. The cam buckle is very easy to use all of the time. Even after years of use. The only way you would have a problem is if you used them outside if the limitations of what they are designed for.

Answer:	I'm not sure but if so they are a quality product. I used them to trailer my 600 lbs plus motorcycle 1000 miles and other than an additional retightening once the bike settled, I had no issues with them. My buddy used another unknown brand strap and he had to make several adjustments on his and it didn't appear to be as well constructed as these. They won't disappoint if used accordingly.

Question:	will it work on the side of my campershell vertcal to tie down canoe on yakima racks
Answer:	For tying down a canoe these would be plenty strong. Ancra states these tie down can me used for side pull loads. However the material you are mounting it to would need to be able to handle the side load. I imaging these tie downs will be able to handle far more load than a wood framed camper shell. Also not sure how you would install the backing plates on a camper shell. You could find a spot with blocking in the camper then you could use wood screws without the backing plate, although this would greatly reduce the load capacity of the tie down. It all depends on the mounting. Not sure why you would need the tie down mounts though since you have a yakima rack. Why not just loop the tie down around the rack bar?

Answer:	Yes. The spring keeps the ring stud locked in place. I installed these on a power wheelchair lift. I use them as the anchors for the binding straps. Much more secure than just hooking the end of a strap into a hole in the lift base.

Answer:	at least for securing the front of a bike it is more a question of one OR the other ... the Ancra w/ soft hooks can "loop" around something/anything (e.g., a handlebar, frame, swingarm, luggage rack, etc.) whereas the Canyon Dancer specifically fastens across the two ends of a "handbar" and provides an anchor point at each end ... while Ancra w/ soft hooks works well with dirt bikes and street bikes w/ traditional handlebars, they do not work so well w/ crotch rockets where there is no easy solid mounting point to loop around (as well as lots of scratchable/breakable plastic!) ... best combination for crotch rockets is Canyon Dancers + regular tie downs (or of course tie downs w/ soft hooks) for the front AND Ancra w/ soft hooks in the rear ... for non-crotch rockets, use Ancra w/ soft hooks on all four corners ... (and of course Ancra w/ soft hooks can be replaced by regular tie downs + separate soft hooks) ... but either way the Canyon Dancers are a great product

Answer:	I can't give you a definitive answer, because I ordered these a long time ago. I ordered 2 'units' originally, and I only see two of these straps in with my trailer supplies. I've used the straps on an 800 pound bike a couple of times with no issues.
Question:	Would this work for a trampoline (along with rachet straps
Answer:	I use the straps to loop over the handle bars on my motorcycles then I put the hooks of rachet straps into loop of these straps.It holds down my bike so that it won't move other trailer and it protects the handlebars from the metal hooks.I assume that it would do the same on a trampoline. You may have a safety issue or standard that you may need to refer to of which I am unaware but barring that I think they should work.
