Answer:	Possibly you filed down the contacts too far? I've used ultra fine sand paper to clean contacts; which seems to work well. Maybe you need a new socket. Or, is it simply a bad bulb?

Question:	how long are the wires coming out of the lights
Answer:	Long enough guesstimating 12" or so, the shielding is a thick flexible rubber so it protects the leads coming out of the lights fairly well. I will advise as with any and all (cheap) aftermarket lights, confirm they work properly and then seal them with silicone. I took my 2 lights completely apart and sealed every single piece. I tested for function by putting a male spade terminal on each lead wire and plugging it into my 12V CORDLESS DRILL BATTERY for an hour for each light. So far they have been excellent, drove through a couple of heavy down pours and had some fun once or twice in the mud and have NOT had a single issue with them. If your running HIDS in your headlights and/or dog lights you won't really notice these when their on unless you aim them down slightly and angle them to light up the sides of the road (excellent for lighting up deer eyes before your headlights would to avoid a accident by hitting a deer)
Question:	Do they come with the switch on/off
Answer:	These are only the lights with mounting hardware. You would have to wire them to a switch you provided. I have them wired to the reverse circuit on our travel trailer and they work perfectly.
