Question:	Does the bag rip when you take it out because the can is bigger then the opening
Answer:	If the bag is full and the trash inside is compact, normal kitchen bags will rip on the way out. This is my one complaint with this unit. I switched to using trash compactor bags with it and have not had any rips since.
Question:	Has any body use the electrical adaptor instead of the batteries?, and how it work out
Answer:	Yes I bought two of the AC adapters and have them plugged in. They work great and no batteries to change. There is an add-on for these at about $19 each.. keep shopping/looking, I found the same ones for about $6 each and they work perfect. They simply plug in the back. I have 2 cans side by side- 1 is for recycling... and a small multi strip behind the cans to plug in. Work great!
Question:	can you lock the lid when you leave the house because of a curious dog
Answer:	Yes. There is a small lever that you can swing over the front lip of the door so it mechanically locks it closed. It does MOT however stop the motor from trying to open it if the sensor sees movement on front of it. There seems to be a clutch inside though because it didn't grind gears or break anything when I did this to test it. However... I imagine after a while of this it would damage it. However there IS a power switch on the back to make the motor NOT try to open it. If this is off you can still lift the lid though unless you use the first mentioned lever on the front (mechanical lock)

Answer:	I bought this in 2007, and left a review sometime in '08-'09 about how much I loved this trash can. We are still using the same one and have only had to change the batteries a few times (in 12 years). The only reason I'm buying a new one today is because my kids were messing around the other day and slammed the lid shut, breaking the gear. I just hope my new one can last as long as my first one did (who knows how much longer it could have gone if my kids hadn't busted it)!

Answer:	I broke the hinge on the lid by accidentally hitting it while open. It still fits back together, but the lid often opens to the wrong place and it won't close at all or closes too soon. I just press the Open button to force it open, then lift the lid and set it at around a 90-degree angle (where it's supposed to be) then press the Close button. All set until someone bangs the lid again.
Question:	Does the large can have a plastic liner or just the ring that holds the bag
Answer:	the ring holds the bag... honestly don't buy this set. i cannot tell you how disappointed i am. i have bought two of these and the larger can motion sensor quit on both within a few months. both did the same thing, stopped opening via the motion sensor. so now we must resort to pushing the open/close buttons to operate, or use the plastic tap to open it manually. sometimes the buttons don't work well so i find myself just using the plastic tab to avoid frustration. i contacted nine stars and they said they would repair/replace, but i have lost so much confidence in this product that i don't want to waste the money to ship. then again, the small ones generally work fine. just thought i'd share my experience.

Answer:	No fuse in cigarette adaptor. Fuse is behind 12 volt plug in. I intend on wiring mine into a fuse block for my ATV so I can charge things while riding. Have yet to figure out what size fuse I should use but since it has a 13 amp out put I was thinking a 15 amp fuse should do fine.

Answer:	Yes. Before the lid opens, yes before and not after, there is a button on the right of the sensor that says open. Depress the open button and it stays open until you depress the close button on the left of the sensor.

Answer:	You can open it manually, but the handle is so tiny, that it is a bother and if the cover is still engaged it fits back when you try to open it. Not a good design. ...and by tiny, I mean really small, if your hands are wet, you will not be able to open it.

Answer:	It all depends on which trash can you actually received. I got one that is only 2.1 gal, not what I expected, yet the image/name showing with these Questions and Answers shows the 13.2 gal. Answer:	I think it would hard to open if the sensor breaks. There's not really a lip where you can get your fingers into around the opening. The black top comes all the way up to make taking a full bag out easier so you'd have to put the bag on underneath the lid and pull the entire top up each time.
Question:	What 20 gallon bag packages actually fits in the extra bag storage compartment? It appears bags that come in rolls will not work
Answer:	I use regular white tall kitchen trash bags. I do find that I have to lift the entire lid to pull even a moderately filled bag out, but otherwise I have no trouble. I do not use the bag storage area as I buy a budget sized box of bags.

Answer:	For brand new sensor trash cans, the lid would seem tight when opening and closing. To close the lid, turn off the power switch, use a little pressure pushing down the lid frame. You will hear 2-3 clicks but that's normal and it will not break the can. This will be easier after a week or two. Answer:	It will not be big enough if it's your only trash can. I own 3 of them, and put them in places where there isn't a high volume of trash. They work great, and I love them (or I wouldn't have 3 of them) but I still use a 13 gallon trash can in my kitchen. I've heard that Townew is coming out with a larger version sometime within the next year. I am anxiously awaiting that.

Answer:	About 2inches below my kitchen counter. It fits perfectly in the kitchen. I love it.

Answer:	I just keep mine plugged in was tried of going through batteries. Dont waste your time just plug in.
Question:	Is the lid supposed to fit snugly? I have an opening in back
Answer:	I'm not very sure what you mean by an opening in the back of the trash can. My can lid fits very snug, and there isn't any opening except the location for ac plug and battery compartment. You should also male sure to habe take black fit ring that holds the bag in place. That goes on before the lid. That's the trim ring (actually fit ring) that's pictured to the left between the lid and trash can. I hope that I was able to provide you with some viable information. I've had my can for a couple of months now and I just love it!

Answer:	Best product ever! I have had mine for well over a year and I have had no problems at all. Mine are in a SUV, not a convertible, so there is no direct sunlight.

Answer:	YES. We have a 2015 Lexus RX 350 and it fits very snug, but works great. Put the seat belt buckle thing through the hole first, then pinch and work the spongy parts in.
Question:	Where do these 4 bendy plastic strips go? I do not see an opening by the side handles
Answer:	I was at the car wash and saw mine looked like they needed washed. For a temporary fix, I switched the 2 from driver and passenger sides so the dirtier side was down and they look new again. Sadly, this killed my motivation to wash them immediately. I am excited to see others here have washed theirs though and will be washing mine soon. Germs are gross. I actually came here just to check the answer to this question and to order a 2nd set for my newer car. These are amazing and I recommend them for every car you ever get. Because if you do want to sell a car, it will look so much cleaner if you have kept these awesome things in. It really is a cheap insurance policy. And it may sound like my car is dirty, it’s not, but I keep my cars for a long time. And we have kids and grandkids, and live in a rural area. So dirt, dust, change, Whatever. Question:	What is the difference between 1st & 2nd generation bag
Answer:	Mine will hold an order of large fries from Sonic with room for two tacos, ketchup & hot sauce and napkins in my 2010 Tacoma. The ad specifically says "what's in your crack?". And that's just on the driver's side. My wife (who I affectionately call "the nagivator") is considerably more messy than I am can fit the entire contents of the overflow from that black hole she calls a "purse". Amazing product.

Question:	Will this work if you don't have hump in the back seat floor? I have a Honda Civic and it is a flat carpeted surface
Answer:	I leave mine on the floor in front of the front passenger seat. That floor is flat and carpeted like your back seat. It's pretty stable. I've been using it for 6 weeks or so and it doesn't tip. I would think that you'll be ok
Question:	Are the wing arm supports weighted for can stability
Answer:	They are heavy plastic and hold the stability fairly good. I had looked for sand filled arms but never found them. I am very happy with the performance of this product.
Question:	Will this sit on the hump without falling over
Answer:	Yes, it will. It has 2 flaps with points on them that grip the carpeting. We have had ours a couple of months in our 2016 Mazda CX9 and we love it and we haven't had it tip over yet. I did a lot of research before I bought this one and I feel that it is the best one available.
Question:	I am used to using a 3-4 gallon grocery bag, this is only 1 gallon so why should I buy this
Answer:	In my family's van (1998 van) we do the same thing, hanging the bag hooked over the passenger arm rest. But I now have a truck and there is no way to do that, because the arm rests is built into the seat when it is up. And the passenger seat is to far away to use the headrest ideas. I can't stand have a bag just loose in there so I am planning on buying this. Though I wish it was bigger like the size of the grocery bag.
