| Question: | Will this work on a 2005 Mercury grand marquis |
| Answer: | Installed mine on a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis. You will need the bypass as this car comes with a transponder attached to the ignition cylinder. Connect 4 wires from the transponder bypass module to the Rx and Tx wires at the transponder ring; the other 2 wires of the bypass go to ignition and power of the remote start module. Just make sure to connect both accessory wires from the remote start module to the ignition harness, otherwise your stock oem keyless entry on the Grand Marquis won't work when the remote start is active. Made the mistake of connecting only accessory wire, remote started the Marquis, but the stock oem remotes that came with the car wouldn't open the doors. Went back to to investigate my wiring, found out I needed to connect the 2nd accessory wire. Test it it. Now I can unlock the doors with my OEM remote when th remote start is active. |
