It is tested in accordance with SAE J2638 for safety and is also backed by a limited lifetime warranty to give you peace of mind. This 20K 5th wheel hitch comes with a set of standard 5th wheel legs that are ready to mount into your truck bed with a pair 5th wheel rails and brackets (base rails and brackets sold separately). Certain turret-style pin boxes, such as Sidewinder, are not compatible with CURT Q-series hitches and should not be used as they may create vehicle / trailer handling hazards. User questions & answers
Question: | will this fit a Kwik Slide slider |
Answer: | Don’t know as I stayed with all Curt MFG. products. |
Question: | I have a Curt Q20 hitch. Is it normal to have a clunking sound while starting and stopping |
Answer: | My hitch does not clunck when starting or stoping. I would go through your jitch and make aure everythi g is tight and torqued to spec. Also, inspect king pin and hitch jaws for wear. Lastly mak sure you are fully engaed before pulling. Hope this helps. |
Question: | will this hitch fit a 2020 2500HD with factory hitch package. I believe its called a Puck hitch |
Answer: | No. This hitch is for rails, not the puck system. |
Question: | Can the head be easily removed from the base to make it lighter to remove in two sections |
Answer: | I have tried both ways on mine. I have found the easiest and quickest way is to just remove the 4 pins from the base rails and take it out that way. It takes about 3 minutes compared to about 15 minutes removing the head and is not much heavier either after trying it. |

How to select a 5th wheel hitch: What size is the truck bed?
Your truck bed length will determine the type of mounting platform you’ll need for your 5th wheel hitch: legs or a roller. 5th wheel legs are the standard option for mounting a 5th wheel hitch, but they will only fit in a long-bed truck. For short-bed trucks, extra clearance may be needed when making tight turns. A 5th wheel roller will allow the hitch to roll backward, providing enough clearance between the trailer overhang and the truck cab.
Does the truck have an OEM puck system?
If you own a truck from Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan or Ram, your truck bed may be equipped with a puck system (pictured). If your truck has a long bed with the puck system, select a CURT 5th wheel hitch with the appropriate OEM puck system legs. If your truck has a short bed with the puck system, select a CURT 5th wheel hitch with the appropriate OEM puck system roller or roller adapter.
Do you prefer permanent base rails?
If your truck does not have the OEM puck system, you will need to install 5th wheel rails. The traditional method for installing base rails is to use vehicle-specific under-bed brackets. First, select the custom under-bed brackets that fit your specific make and model, as well as a set of industry-standard base rails. Next, if you have a long-bed truck, select a 5th wheel hitch with legs. If you have a short-bed truck, select a 5th wheel hitch with a roller. Remember to always abide by the weight capacity of the lowest-rated towing component.
Would you like the option to easily remove the base rails?
Another 5th wheel mounting option is a gooseneck hitch. Using the CURT Double Lock EZr or Double Lock gooseneck and X5 adapter plate allows you to have a removable set of industry-standard 5th wheel base rails. First, select the Double Lock EZr gooseneck hitch kit that fits your specific make and model. Next, select the corresponding X5 adapter plate. Finally, if you have a long-bed truck, select a 5th wheel hitch with legs. If you have a short-bed truck, select a 5th wheel hitch with a roller.

The CURT Q24 is the heavyweight champion of 5th wheel hitches. With a gross trailer weight capacity of 24,000 lbs. and a vertical load limit of 6,000 lbs., the Q24 is capable of handling the heaviest of 5th wheel trailers, including deluxe RV and oversize campers. This means smoother turns, a quieter ride and less strain on your towing equipment and truck. The CURT Q24 5th wheel trailer hitch also features dual-locking jaws, a self-aligning head, single-handle operation and a three-position coupling indicator. Product description
The CURT A25 5th wheel hitch offers smoother, quieter towing for your home-away-from-home, combining the patented technology of our A-series, an easier mounting system and the power of a 25K 5th wheel hitch. Like our A16 and A20 hitches, this 25K 5th wheel hitch uses a patented cast yoke to allow for unimpeded head movement, while providing exceptional stability for the trailer. The yoke has a set of poly-torsion inserts to suppress shock loads and reduce excessive noise, and the head features high-strength, interlocking jaws to give the trailer stability and the freedom to pivot and swivel as needed. The A25 5th wheel hitch is also engineered for easier installation. The legs are equipped with two pins to properly align with the mounting holes, and they have easy-access mounting bolts for ergonomic tightening. The 5th wheel head also has a fast, one-pin removal system to make installation and removal from the truck bed easier. This 25K 5th wheel includes a set of industry-standard 5th wheel base rails to mount onto custom 5th wheel brackets. Once installed, the A25 is fast and simple to operate. It features an extra-wide head opening to increase the coupling area for the trailer, and it has a lockable, single-throw handle that self-resets to the ready-to-couple position after uncoupling. To make coupling even easier, it is equipped with a coupling indicator that is visible from the truck cab. The indicator shows the status of the connection and eliminates the need for you to check multiple times while coupling. To protect the A25 5th wheel hitch against rust, wear and whatever other threats might impede your cross-country tour, it comes with a carbide black powder coat finish and a limited lifetime warranty. We also test the A25 for safety in accordance with SAE J2638 to ensure reliability for the road ahead.
- SELF-RESETTING. This A-series 5th wheel hitch features a unique, ergonomic handle and extra-wide head to make coupling your 5th wheel trailer easier than ever. After uncoupling, the handle self-resets to the ready-to-couple position
- FULL ARTICULATION. This 5th wheel hitch provides controlled towing of your 5th wheel camper with its patented head technology. The head is built on a cast yoke with poly-torsion inserts that reduce shock loads, chucking and noise at the coupling point
- COUPLING INDICATOR. Built into this 5th wheel hitch is a 3-position indicator that shows the coupling status. It conveniently shows if the 5th wheel hitch is coupled, uncoupled or ready to tow
- TESTED STRENGTH. This 5th wheel hitch is tested and rated for 25,000 lbs. gross trailer weight and 6,250 lbs. vertical load (limited to lowest-rated towing component). It is tested according to SAE J2638 specifications
- VERSATILE FIT. This 5th wheel hitch comes with 5th wheel legs and 5th wheel base rails to mount onto under-bed 5th wheel brackets (brackets sold separately)
Product features
Smart operation
All A-series 5th wheel hitches operate with a lockable handle that self-resets to the ready-to-couple position after the 5th wheel is uncoupled, removing a step from the coupling process.
Easy setup
A-series 5th wheel hitches feature alignment pegs on the hitch legs, as well as easy-access mounting bolts for simple leg-to-body attachment (select models).
Simple installation
Each 5th wheel hitch is designed for fast, one-pin head removal to make removing the 5th wheel from the truck bed easier with smaller, lighter pieces.
Reliable connection
The A-series 5th wheel head is built with high-strength, interlocking jaws that greatly reduce chucking noises. The head also has an extra-wide opening for easy coupling.
Articulating head
The fully articulating torsion head of the A-series 5th wheel offers controlled coupling and stable, quiet towing with your 5th wheel trailer.
Quiet towing
A-series 5th wheel hitches also feature a cast yoke head with poly-torsion inserts. This mechanism suppresses shock loads and further reduces chucking noises from the trailer.
High-strength construction
The A25 and A30 5th wheel hitches are constructed with a cast steel main body, providing strength to tow the largest of 5th wheel trailers and offering a more precise build.
Thoroughly tested
CURT has a dedicated in-house testing and engineering facility in Detroit, MI to confirm that all of our 5th wheel hitches pass SAE J2638 specifications for safety.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this 5th wheel hitch comes with the pins |
Answer: | I would think with that short of bed you would need a slider hitch. |
Question: | Does this hitch come with the brackets and hardware |
Answer: | There is no installation kit that comes with this, it is hitch and legs only. So you will need to get the rails to fit your truck. |
Question: | will this fit a 2009 Ram 1500 1/2 ton with a 5foot 7inch bed |
Answer: | It’s about preference to me. If you are going to use the bed of your truck frequently I would buy the Reese goose box, if not I would save the money and buy the b&w. I have the B&W however if I was on the market for one right now I would buy the goose box. |
Question: | will this fit in a 94 f-150xlt 4x4 long bed truck need one pretty quick |
Answer: | Yes, rated for 20,000# and would probably handle more for short trips. I used one commercially for a year and could not be happier with it. |

Question: | I have two car haulers, a 3 car and 5 car Kaufman trailer. Can this 5th wheel handle that much weight |
Answer: | It should with no problem. I pull a 18,000# fifth wheel when empty. So I guess over 20,000# with all my junk in it. I have had no problem at all. I think it's either a 24,000 or 26,000# rating. Hope this helps |
Question: | The trailer dealer had to replace the pin on my 13 landmark to fit the ez glide pullrite. will i have to change it again |
Answer: | I don't think you should and I'm not sure why they would have to change out the king pin for the ez glide. Any King pin should work on any fifth wheel hitch. There must have been a problem with the king pin in the beginning. No no, it should not need to be replaced. |
