Answer:	500 lbs is just not accurate. I only had 210 lbs and the weight was evenly distributed. The Shank between the receiver and the pivot joint twisted like a piece of rope! This was only the second time that I had used the basket and it was only 4 months old. WHEN I CALLED CURT ABOUT THE PROBLEM THEY REFUSED TO COVER THE PART UNDER WARRANTY AND STATED THAT I MUST HAVE HAD ALL OF THE WEIGHT ON ONE SIDE! THUS IT WAS NOT USED PROPERLY AND THEY WILL NOT COVER IT UNDER WARRANTY. WARNNING : THE CUSTOMER SUPPORT FOR CURT RATES A NEGATIVE 10 IF SUCH A RATEING WAS POSSIBLE.

Answer:	The usable INSIDE dimensions of the basket are 58" x 19 1/4" x 5 1/2". All other dimensions are outside, including brackets, etc. The shipping weight is 59 pounds.

Some of our customer's vehicles only had a receiver that was 1.25" in which they had to also order and buy a converter to make it 2" compatible. Answer:	There are four models with reviews and therefore photos all aggregated on this listing. Two sizes, each folding and non folding type. That is why pics may look different depending on which model.

Answer:	I have mine mounted to the back of a teardrop trailer, so I had a similar concern. I purchased this -- Connor Hitch Extender - High Clearance 2" Dual Hitch Extension (GTW- 4000 lb.) , 1625370 Trailer Hitch Extension. I did modify the cargo carrier so it rode closer to the vehicle by shortening the main tube where it inserted into the extender, and relocated the hole for the pin. I would also anti rattle pins, and clamps as it assures it rides quiet and completely level. Equipped like this it did a great job, on a Maine trip with lots of rough road, off road sections.

Question:	Is the tirangular metal maeh in the bottom aluminum or steel
Answer:	Purchased our Curt model 18100 in Milton, WA, in July, 2016, and assembled it ourselves. The mesh is aluminum as is the angle metal that borders the mesh. The square tubing with all other bracing and bolts are steel. Ours came with Nyloc® nuts.
Question:	Would I have to purchase a hitch pin or is one included
Answer:	The pin will lock the carrier in place in the folded position, or unfolded position. You will need a second pin to keep the carrier stable. I bought a locking pin. Works great on an Acadia with a factory installed tow hitch, but make sure you get the correct size for your hitch (diameter and length, or it won't fit through the hole). Answer:	Mine was just fine. Very well make, sturdy, worked great. If you have to grind a bit, it's worth it.

Answer:	You are so right. I too was confused because I am getting a long trunk made to fit the carrier. I got the Arksen so that a long trunk/custom made box could fit snugly. The previous carrier had no frame and was a bad product. My tradesman was trying to fathom the inner measurements before the carrier arrived. Now we have the exact measurements for a snug fit. The Arksen carrier is the most secure tray, especially when you are driving at 110km per hour. The frame around the tray is very sturdy and very useful to strap on things. Answer:	I’m not sure about yours specifically, but it’s fairly universal. We have used it behind our Tahoe, a mini van, and a pickup truck severa times. You need to have the correct receiver on your vehicle. With th basket down, I can fit between the basket and my Tahoe. If it’s loaded properly I can still open the hatch.
Question:	What is the distance between the end of the receiver and the basket
Answer:	Unless flames shoot out of your exhaust, you will be fine. If flames do shoot out of your exhaust, first, AWESOME, and second, you should probably have that looked at.
Question:	Will this fit a 2019 Toyota 4 runner
Answer:	If you have a spare tire on the back of your vehicle it may not be long enough to go into the hitch reciever. In my case, a Jeep wrangler 2015 spare tire blocked the ability for the carrier to reach the hitch reciever. It reached but could not be inserted enough to put the pin in.

Answer:	I purchased to truck mud flaps and cut them to fit the bottom, then I strapped a locking plastic box to the carrier. I drove from Alaska to Ohio and back without a problem..... the box still got some dirt on it, but then so did everything!
