Answer:	The red piece is both a plug and socket. Each come with the 2 barrel crimp/solder pins. Also comes with a protective cap. If you don't have the proper crimp tool. You can solder them to the wire in an emergency....But I don't recommend it.....It's best to at least buy a cheap hammer punch crimp(Harbor freight, Amazon,Etc)....Like $12-15.... I have a hydraulic crimp tool as well as a large hand tool...but I crimp alot....those will set you back a couple hundred bucks.

Answer:	There are two types/configurations of the cable connector so don't hold your breath and be ready to either replace the connector at the winch side or to get another type. Your hit/miss chance is 50%. If your question is "will the connector HANDLE load needed for 1200 lb winch", the answer is YES. It should handle 12,000 lb (which you probably meant to say) as long the winch consumes no more than what the connector is rated at (I think it's 125 Amp).

Question:	are all these plugs intrchangable
Answer:	The hook goes toward the metal as it is the locking mechanism that locks it into the housing. Basically it's the exact opposite of what you were imagining but dont worry, if you mess up you can use a little screw driver or whatever else to depress the metal locking tab and remove the pin to reinsert the opposite way. I did several of these all at once on a multiple battery unit and accidentally did one or two of them backward and you can depress tab and pull them right out. But the hook has to catch on the metal tab. If you try and do it the way you were thinking the pins will not lock in place and can and will slide out every time you disconnect and because of the lock meant to grab the tab on the housing, you may never be able to disconnect these if the two locking ends get locked inside of the casing. I dont know, I dont want to try or find out.

Answer:	Try anderson power pole. These are power pole connectors. Anderson power pole makes them. They also have a system Ham Radio operators use. Anderson power pole connectors. Modular design. Comes red and black. Each individual is separate from the others. All have dovetailed on all 4 sides, allowed for pinning up as many as you could imagine. Make a long flat, and color code with red and black. Or make an ell configuration, you could make a square 3 x 3 for 9 wires, and could eliminate the middle of the square for only eight Leads to connect. Have fun. The 75 amp size can take 10 way if my memory serves me correctly.

Question:	Are these compatible with the anderson/bunker connectors? i bought another brand that looked the same, but the channel/grooves would not mate
