Answer:	This item is used to pull heavy items. My husband attached it to his truck and also to the oak section and hauled it where it would be easier to cut into smaller pieces to load on the truck.

Answer:	I am not an off road enthusiast, so I am not sure how much stretch is common with these types of straps. I will say it was ALOT more flexible than the 2" X 20' Tow strap that I ripped both ends off of. The loops on the ends work much better than hooks for my application also. I could apply enough tension with this strap to slide my 3/4 ton dodge truck (#5500 empty, on pavement) sideways, without breaking!!! With consistent application of tension force, I doubt that I could break this strap. Make sure that the loops are protected to distribute the load and it will last for a long time. This is not meant to "snatch" heavy loads.

Question:	Will this fit a 3/16 wire cable
Answer:	Yes, It will. However, It will not fit tight around the cable and will be able to slide back and forth. I found this feature to be beneficial as sometimes I need to get the hook end of my winch cable into tight spaces. I would not be able to do this If the cable saver could not slide up along the cable and out of the way.

Installation instructions:

1. Take out the pin of your hook and take the hook off the cable.
2. Just install the rope or cable between the two halves, no need to take the sythentic rope sleeve or any lube for the steel cable, thanks to the two-pieces design.
3. Insert four bolts and tighten them up with the Allen wrench comes together in the package.
4. Put the hook back to the end of the cable or rope. contact the clutch and the shrink on the axle, until the hook is on the hook and the ball.

Answer:	The HORT tree straps are universal and can be used with any type of post, stake or hook. The straps have a 5/16" grommet hole that you can run any type of rope, wire, or tie through for attachment to your anchor. You may want to add some galvanized tie wire or tree tie to your order to make attaching the straps a bit easier. You can purchase the anchors, stakes, t-posts, or poles from your local hardware store or Home Depot which work great for attaching the straps to. Duck bill anchors work well too but you may need to purchase a separate "drive rod" tool to install them.

1)Freespool winch and pull out approx. 2 feet of cable.

2)Pull Hairpin and release clevis pin from winch hook.

3)Remove the four bolts fastening the two halves of the Split Cable Hook Stopper together. Place the cable or rope between the two halves. Insert the four bolts and tighten.

4)Re-attach hook to cable end.

5)To stow hook, engage clutch and retract cable onto winch spool until hook is snug against the hook stopper and fairlead.

1.Remove the pin of the hook and pull the hook off the cable.

2.Simply install the rope or cable between two and a half parts, and because of the two-piece design, there is no need to use the casing or any lubricant of the wire rope.

3.Insert four bolts and tighten them with the inner hexagonal wrench attached to the box.

4.Put the hook back to the end of the cable or rope. contact the contracting part of the clutch and shaft until the hook is located on the hook and ball.

5.please locate the hook limiter at approximately 3/4 of the hook length when using the winch.

Question:	lbs is the breaking strength, not the working load limit? Is that 30000lbs using it straight or basket
Answer:	Besides being bought as a 'tree-saver', I intend to use it as a "BRIDLE" for exactly the reason you ask. Being rated at a higher strength number, it should be robust enough to withstand that intended use. Most tow-hooks are rated up to 10,000 lbs(3/4-1 ton trucks) and dividing the shock load between 2 of them just makes sense from a safety factor, when trying to extract heavy pickup trucks, or lighter vehicles from heavy mud. For the price, even if it only lasts a few times using as a BRIDLE, this strap is a bargain. As a tree strap, it should last a long time. I prefer to use a web strap first in this configuration, then a heavy looped rigging cable(1/2 inch), then a chain last. To answer your question as a 'winch-point', the shock-loading should be below the stress point of breaking. using as a bridle with a "tow strap", not a recovery strap or rope would put more....stress....on it, but also would be below it's ultimate breaking point.As another person posted, putting a winch hook in the middle of the bridle, would be the weakest point, Attaching a tow strap at this point, THEN a hook to the looped tow strap end, would decrease any weak point on the bridle, The winch hook would only attach in the straps covered and reinforced loop.

Answer:	After close examination, I could not find a label identifying the material used in its production. It appears to be a very thick nylon and is label as 30,000 lb load limit. It does appear to be well built but I have not used it yet.

Answer:	If the hook is rated as a secure towing point, then you could use it there. As a general rule, make sure the towing hook is stronger than the strap so that the strap breaks first if in case one of them is overloaded by accident. Since otherwise if the metal hook was to break it would fly off damaging surrounding things. So do check if the hook is rated for more than 35000lb break strength. Answer:	From what I see in their website, they say it's a 30,000lb strap for $10. They provide no certificate of break strength for the strap. It might as well be a 5000lb strap for that price, there's no way it's a 30,000lb polyester strap unless they are selling at a loss. Even the Tree Saver Recovery Strap 3" x 8' costs $14 on Amazon which I know is a really good price. So it's not us charging more, it's them selling at a loss or scamming you.
