Question:	Can this be used on a 4x4 post? I have a tree on one side and a post on the other
Answer:	The straps can be used on the post. Now whether or not that post will be safe to hold up the hammock is the question. Also, the sharp edges of the post may wear the straps quicker.

Question:	lbs is the breaking strength, not the working load limit? Is that 30000lbs using it straight or basket
Answer:	Besides being bought as a 'tree-saver', I intend to use it as a "BRIDLE" for exactly the reason you ask. Being rated at a higher strength number, it should be robust enough to withstand that intended use. Most tow-hooks are rated up to 10,000 lbs(3/4-1 ton trucks) and dividing the shock load between 2 of them just makes sense from a safety factor, when trying to extract heavy pickup trucks, or lighter vehicles from heavy mud. For the price, even if it only lasts a few times using as a BRIDLE, this strap is a bargain. As a tree strap, it should last a long time. I prefer to use a web strap first in this configuration, then a heavy looped rigging cable(1/2 inch), then a chain last. To answer your question as a 'winch-point', the shock-loading should be below the stress point of breaking. using as a bridle with a "tow strap", not a recovery strap or rope would put more....stress....on it, but also would be below it's ultimate breaking point.As another person posted, putting a winch hook in the middle of the bridle, would be the weakest point, Attaching a tow strap at this point, THEN a hook to the looped tow strap end, would decrease any weak point on the bridle, The winch hook would only attach in the straps covered and reinforced loop.
Question:	Where is this made
Answer:	After close examination, I could not find a label identifying the material used in its production. It appears to be a very thick nylon and is label as 30,000 lb load limit. It does appear to be well built but I have not used it yet.
Question:	Can this be attached to 2 tow hooks on a vehicle and just winch the center of the strap
Answer:	Would not recommend,pulled a car off a 10 degree slope and it broke.

Question:	Aren't two D rings the same size? How can I put one into the other one
Answer:	I have not hung a hammock w these straps, but I have hung plenty of hammocks in trees and on poles. You wrap each strap horizontally around an anchor point at each end of the hammock (instead of vertically hanging the strap from a horizontal branch), and then tie or clip each end of the hammock to its respective D-ring or snap link on the straps. Most hammocks have a single mounting point at each end, even if there is a spreader bar to help stabilize and widen/flatten the hammock surface. So, really, the anchor points for the straps do not necessarily need to be wrapped in an specific direction. If you have a low enough tree branch, railing, or whatever bar, beam, post, pole, such that the D-ring on the strap is at the desired height above the ground for tying in the hammock, it should be fairly easy to figure out. Most hammocks and swings come w simple diagrams for how to hang them, and it seems these straps come w some handy example diagrams. There might even be a video on Amazon or the seller's site, or do a search online for what you're trying to do. There are MANY "how to" videos out there with good and bad ideas to use. I'm sure there are some engineers, physicists, construction builders who can explain the horizontal and vertical stresses, tension, torsion, compression, flexion, or other forces each hammock end can place on the anchor points and which methods will safely hold required weights and other forces. I haven't crunched those kinds of numbers in too long to recall the technical matters without doing some refresher research and drawing some diagrams. I would just do a common sense check on the sturdiness of each anchor point and go for it. There's nothing like trial and error to teach lessons, especially when you learn from errors. :-)

Answer:	They were great about replacing mine when they seemed shorter than I had expected.
Question:	Will these straps do damage to trees
Answer:	The straps are 58". Add the D rings which are 1 3/4 " and consider the thickness of the branch you're hanging it on.
Question:	If I directly use the straps on trees, will the straps rip apart
Answer:	Mine were also two different lengths and not adjustable, very annoying.

Answer:	If the post is strong enough to handle the weight, and as long as you have something that will keep the strap from slipping down like a nail then yes you could use it that way.

Answer:	Yes, once there's weight on the hammock the straps will tighten around whatever, I've used elongated rocks, decking, pretty much anything
Question:	Why does it say 2000+ pounds when each strap is rated for 700? Wouldn't that be 1400 pounds
Answer:	Load bearing products are designed with a factor of safety. A ladder for instance may be rated for 300lb but have a factor of safety of 3. The ladder can safely handle 300lbs but it is tested for durability at 900lb. These straps may have an FOS of 1.5 which would be 2100lbs. It's a good selling point showing "2000+" in the title.

Answer:	The HORT tree straps are universal and can be used with any type of post, stake or hook. The straps have a 5/16" grommet hole that you can run any type of rope, wire, or tie through for attachment to your anchor. You may want to add some galvanized tie wire or tree tie to your order to make attaching the straps a bit easier. You can purchase the anchors, stakes, t-posts, or poles from your local hardware store or Home Depot which work great for attaching the straps to. Duck bill anchors work well too but you may need to purchase a separate "drive rod" tool to install them.

Answer:	You can adjust the length by wrapping the strap around the branch if you wrap the strap around the branch multiple times before you put it through the loop.

Answer:	Yes if you select the 20ft straps it comes with two straps and both are 20 feet in length.

Answer:	Dear customer, The width of each strap is about 2 inches or 5 cm.
Question:	Can you use these directly on a live oak tree, or will the coarse bark rip them apart
Answer:	These type of connectors will girdle the limb and eventually cut off the vascular system. Locally we have a lawsuit over a limb with this type of connector killing a limb and falling on a child, killing him. The vascular system of a tree is in the outer layers, and when it gets cut off the limb dies. The proper way to attach a swing is to drill a hole through the limb and use eye bolts. The tree will scar over them and it won't hurt the tree. This kind of system is dangerous.
Question:	Can it be used individually for single connector item? How much would it hold
Answer:	Yes, you can use it as a single unit. I don't know how much weight it will carry but they are rated at 2200 lbs (100 KG). I believe any tree branch you hang these on would break long before these straps would snap.

Answer:	Hi There! Thanks so much for your interest in our products and for contacting us about our straps. Our versatile straps can be used in all kinds of set ups. When hanging the straps on crossbeams we recommend smoothing out any sharp corners or edges that may cause undue friction. But nevertheless safety is always paramount, we would strongly recommend inspecting the strap before every use to make sure the straps integrity has not been compromised. Question:	where are these made
Answer:	No. It should spin without doing anything to it.
Question:	Does the green on the strap match the green and khaki hammock color
Answer:	The straps cant physically be shortened, but you could use extra felt padding on the branch (or whatever your hanging from) to make one shorter. The strap feeds thru itself to go around the branch so if the branch is fatter the strap will be shorter overall.
Question:	I know that the combined weight rating for these is 400 lbs, but how much weight were they stress tested to handle
Answer:	I bought the 8 ft one. It is similar to seatbelt material with a closed loop at one end and metal hardware at the other. You attach to the tree or other support by laying the strap over the branch and feeding the hardware end all the way through the loop until it cinches snugly around the branch. The only way to shorten it is to wrap it around the tree branch multiple times until you get the desired length or tie a knot to use up some of the excess length. At least that is my take on it.

Question:	Would this be able to be used as a tree rope swing extension
Answer:	This item is used to pull heavy items. My husband attached it to his truck and also to the oak section and hauled it where it would be easier to cut into smaller pieces to load on the truck.
Question:	Is this made in the US
Answer:	I am not an off road enthusiast, so I am not sure how much stretch is common with these types of straps. I will say it was ALOT more flexible than the 2" X 20' Tow strap that I ripped both ends off of. The loops on the ends work much better than hooks for my application also. I could apply enough tension with this strap to slide my 3/4 ton dodge truck (#5500 empty, on pavement) sideways, without breaking!!! With consistent application of tension force, I doubt that I could break this strap. Make sure that the loops are protected to distribute the load and it will last for a long time. This is not meant to "snatch" heavy loads.
