How to select a 5th wheel hitch: What size is the truck bed?

Your truck bed length will determine the type of mounting platform you’ll need for your 5th wheel hitch: legs or a roller. 5th wheel legs are the standard option for mounting a 5th wheel hitch, but they will only fit in a long-bed truck. For short-bed trucks, extra clearance may be needed when making tight turns. A 5th wheel roller will allow the hitch to roll backward, providing enough clearance between the trailer overhang and the truck cab.

Does the truck have an OEM puck system?

If you own a truck from Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan or Ram, your truck bed may be equipped with a puck system (pictured). If your truck has a long bed with the puck system, select a CURT 5th wheel hitch with the appropriate OEM puck system legs. If your truck has a short bed with the puck system, select a CURT 5th wheel hitch with the appropriate OEM puck system roller or roller adapter.

Do you prefer permanent base rails?

If your truck does not have the OEM puck system, you will need to install 5th wheel rails. The traditional method for installing base rails is to use vehicle-specific under-bed brackets. First, select the custom under-bed brackets that fit your specific make and model, as well as a set of industry-standard base rails. Next, if you have a long-bed truck, select a 5th wheel hitch with legs. If you have a short-bed truck, select a 5th wheel hitch with a roller. Remember to always abide by the weight capacity of the lowest-rated towing component.

Another 5th wheel mounting option is a gooseneck hitch. How to select a 5th wheel hitch: What size is the truck bed?

Your truck bed length will determine the type of mounting platform you’ll need for your 5th wheel hitch: legs or a roller. 5th wheel legs are the standard option for mounting a 5th wheel hitch, but they will only fit in a long-bed truck. For short-bed trucks, extra clearance may be needed when making tight turns. A 5th wheel roller will allow the hitch to roll backward, providing enough clearance between the trailer overhang and the truck cab.

Does the truck have an OEM puck system?

If you own a truck from Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan or Ram, your truck bed may be equipped with a puck system (pictured). Answer:	The Curt 25 hitch had will fit into multiple leg systems the puck is only good for the new 2016 or newer GM trucks with the puck system. You would need to get an above the bed rail set up.

Answer:	It cost about 40 bucks for to be fully assembled at the manufacturer and even then half the time it doesn't come all as one piece and make him and one giant box or two separate boxes.because it is together in the photos and by design it might be shipped in one giant box they charge you extra. but either way you're going to have to undo and redo all the bolt along with loctite due to the fact that you have to put the legs and first then you adjust the head so it sits and its own Center.

Answer:	If you go to the Anderson Manufacturer sight, they show you how. For me, it works great and is easy to do. It works great for my 35ft. 5th wheel. It is great if you use your gooseneck hook up for other trailers (which I do) and do not want the standard large 5th wheel hitch in the back of your truck. This whole setup is awesome, lightweight with easy install and easy removal for dailyu full use of the bed of your truck.

Answer:	This is a standard rail kit and can fit hitches to 25K (Possibly Higher). I have a similar set on my Freightliner FL60 that I tow a 36' 5th wheel and a boat behind that. These should work fine for a 20K hitch with the pin tabs that drop through the plate.

Answer:	I'm not sure. I have air bags on my 2013 Ram 2500 4x4 with these brackets mounted. There was a change in the frame on 2016 Ram 2500. Check with a reputable RV dealer before buying.
Question:	Will this fit my 2012 2500 long bed
Answer:	It can be used, but may require slight modification
Question:	anyone install this on a 3500 drw
Answer:	I installed on my '13 Ram 2500 (I know you asked about a 3500, I assume a Ram too). Doubt the duals would make any difference. Take the spare down out of the way and the heat shield for it too as you will need all the room you can get for the torque wrench. The directions were easy to follow, just measure twice. Torquing to the 100 or so foot pounds sucks up under the bed as you have no leverage laying on your back but it gets done eventually. The only trouble I had was the bolt on the rail closest to the cab on the very far right. The hole ended up over a brace and there wasn't enough room for the nut under the bed so I had to move that bolt outward 2 slots. Now I have an extra hole. The directions might mention that but I missed it. Took me about 3-4 hours in my garage with regular tools. Good luck, hope this helps.

Question:	Does this fit a 2019 f250 superduty with an 8 ft. Bed
Answer:	They came in the package that I received. Just keep in mind that "16k" is likely an exaggeration as far as weight rating is concerned. I have hauled heavy weight with my trucks for years and have used other brands of similar weight ratings with zero issues. I have had GREAT concerns with this hitch. i.e., pivot bolts have sheared THREE times and have had to be replaced, as well as the spot wielding on the "guide" for the king pin lock has just fallen out during use. I've had to pretty much rebuild this hitch to make it "safe" ad opposed to other brands that I have used for hundreds of thousands of miles without issue. Hope this helps.

Answer:	The hitch is for a standard 5th wheel, Each truck takes a different adapter kit to mount it to your truck. You need to look to see if the sell an adapter kit for your truck. If your truck is not heavy duty enough they probably won't. The hitch it's self is strong enough to carry a big trailer.

Answer:	No. It was just the hitch that you set into existing rails. I already had rails for 5th wheel installed.

How to select a 5th wheel hitch: What size is the truck bed?

Your truck bed length will determine the type of mounting platform you’ll need for your 5th wheel hitch: legs or a roller. 5th wheel legs are the standard option for mounting a 5th wheel hitch, but they will only fit in a long-bed truck. For short-bed trucks, extra clearance may be needed when making tight turns. A 5th wheel roller will allow the hitch to roll backward, providing enough clearance between the trailer overhang and the truck cab.

Does the truck have an OEM puck system?

If you own a truck from Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan or Ram, your truck bed may be equipped with a puck system (pictured). If your truck has a long bed with the puck system, select a CURT 5th wheel hitch with the appropriate OEM puck system legs. If your truck has a short bed with the puck system, select a CURT 5th wheel hitch with the appropriate OEM puck system roller or roller adapter.

Do you prefer permanent base rails?

If your truck does not have the OEM puck system, you will need to install 5th wheel rails. The traditional method for installing base rails is to use vehicle-specific under-bed brackets. First, select the custom under-bed brackets that fit your specific make and model, as well as a set of industry-standard base rails. Next, if you have a long-bed truck, select a 5th wheel hitch with legs. If you have a short-bed truck, select a 5th wheel hitch with a roller. Remember to always abide by the weight capacity of the lowest-rated towing component.

Question:	I have a reese fifth wheel hitch! will the hitch sit down into the curt rails just fine? and does the curt bracket fit a 2012 chevy
Answer:	I also have a Reese, I used it as a template to fasten the curt rails and brackets on my 2016 gmc. It fits fine. The rails are heavier than the Reese. Curt has a number you can call to make sure you get the right brackets for your 2012. They were pretty easy install
Question:	Will these brakets and rails work with a pullrite
Answer:	These work too mount standard mounting rails in the bed. I used them on a 2015 Silverado Duramax and they mounted the rails perfect. Just depends on how the pullrite hitch mounts.

Answer:	I don't think it had the frame bolts just the rail bolts, nuts, and spacers. I'm pretty sure I had to buy the frame bolts. it's been awhile since I put it in .. sorry.
