| Answer: | The best way is to look at watts. Look at how many watts a product is and then look at what you pay per the watt. Here's an example: A 1500 Watt home heater might cost you close to fifty cents per hour to run it. The house heater is a high energy consumer. Here's another example: A 300 watt heater might cost you around ten cents per hour to run. Here's one last example: An 8 watt led bulb might cost you a penny or two per hour to run. Now, with all this mind keep in mind that the heating pad only is running low heat ONLY when your pet sits on top of it. So, my guess is if your cat sleeps 14 hours a day in this heated kitty bed it could run you maybe fourteen to twenty-eight cents a day. That's just a guess. I'm also accounting for phantom power consumption here if you leave it plugged into an outlet all the time. You can always ask K&H their wattage, but it is chump change, trust me it is in the end. You could run this thing for probably 3 or 4 days before it would cost you one cup of coffee at McDonald's. No cat will sit in here 14 hours every day. Cats like a change. I bought one of these because my kitty has arthritis in her hips/hind legs region. When she is in pain she stays in her hut for pain relief and it helps her. I'm debating getting another one because her hair is so embedded into the pad. That's how much she uses it. You have to ask yourself if your kitty is worth fourteen cents or so a day to have warmth. Well, is your kitty worth it to you? Only you can decide that one. |
