Answer:	Just depends how often you use the vacuum. I clean my filter after each use. If you haven't bought the vacuum yet I highly recommend it. It has amazing suction and has worked great especially with a dog. I am thinking about buying another just to have lol. So far the filter has lasted my almost 2 months but I did buy a replacement filter to have on hand.
