Answer:	Ok, so this was bugging me also on what the difference between the models is, So I called Bissell and they informed me that there is no difference the last # added to the model is added for different stores carrying the product. However the features on each of these models is identical. Hope that helps ;)

Answer:	I have three of them, older model bottom tank not translucent. I estimate about threes years with not very much use but when I use it, I use it hard. Great when it was new. Now very loud and don't have much suction, almost useless. Very well constructed though, solid motor and impeller but impossible to change the motor brushes without ripping it out from the holder - maybe need special tool, didn't have to be that way. Filters are the weak link, need to be cleaned constantly even before the tank is filled to one inch. I think the dusts got into the motor/impeller and eat up the bearings.

Question:	I am thinking of purchasing this for my home cleaning. Is it possible to exhaust the vac to the outside
Answer:	You would need an extra length of hose to route the exhaust outside. This is an excellent and strong vacuum but is dry only, just so your aware of that and also uses bags. There are models that are wet/dry with no bag but the filter is very expensive to replace.

Answer:	The bags are available on Amazon.com. The part number for the 3 pack hepa bags is HPB2HPK and the standard 3 layer bags are HPB1PK which is also a 3 pack.
Question:	is this unit good for wood working shop
Answer:	Not good for dust collection device if that is your intention. It collects debris/dust in a bag that would get clogged up very quickly if you were picking up shavings and other wood particles. You could probably use it for wood working if you hooked it up to something like a Dust Deputy cyclone in front of the GV 50 canister. But I will tell you I use mine in my wood shop to do general cleanup and it is the best vacuum I have ever seen! 50' of hose and so quiet and yet very powerful. Great tool!

This vac can only be run without the filter for vacuuming clean liquids. The filters are reusable as long as they don’t sustain any damage. Question:	How much noise in decibels does this make
Answer:	Sorry, but there is no way my vac is 58 db's. That is relatively quiet. This vac is anything but quiet. It has an ear-piercing whine on start up and shut down. It might be 58Db's at the other end of my house, with the garage door shut. It's a nice vac, but noise is not its strong suit. I ordered a sound meter simply to answer this question. I got 94-96db continuous, 101 db max at about 5 feet distance.

Answer:	I just went out to the shop and measured the cord. From the far tip of the prongs of the plug to where the cord goes into the vacuum is a total of 65 inches. Hope this helps you. It is a wonderful vacuum!!!!!
Question:	How many CFM and is this appropriate for wood dust following a chip seperator
Answer:	The standard Garage Vac has about 95 CFM compared to 138 CFM for the Garage Vac Pro. It will do well for wood dust. The standard Garage Vac motor life is approximately 400-450 hours compared to 550-650 hours for the Garage Vac Pro. Thank you for your interest in the Garage Vac by VacuMaid.

Answer:	yes it will work on saw dust and the hose is 30 feet long which works well at 30 feet I love mine for the garage, a lot of people said that it didn't have enough sucton at 30 feet but I have no problem with that, would recommend this product.

Answer:	Ours just has a foam insert.
Question:	do you have to use bags with it
Answer:	Bags are not mandatory to use. However, they are recommended.
Question:	do i need to remove the filter when I use this as a wet vac
Answer:	Remove dry pick up filters and leave the foam filter on. If the foam filter becomes saturated and creates a mist in the exhaust, the filter should be dried first or replaced by a dry foam filter before finishing the job.....according to the manual.

Answer:	No, there are no contacts or wiring with the hose. This is primarily for connection to the unit itself and assumes you have a switch.
Question:	Is there a power switch on the handle? I would be plugging this into the vacuum outlet, my unit is in the basement
Answer:	The system should be set up to turn on when the hose is inserted into the vacuum receptacle. At least that’s how mine works. Each receptacle has contacts that are activated by the hose being inserted into them. Hope this helps!!
Question:	My hole house vac has an 1 1/2” opening will this fit tight
Answer:	I believe it should fit. I just measured mine. The end that goes into the wall outlet is 1.5 inches wide and the outlet where I plug in is about the same. I feel it makes a nice tight connection when I use it.

Answer:	The Garage Vac is designed to be mounted vertically due to the position of the bag and bottom protector plate on the inside of the unit. Mounting horizontally would create a suction issue with the system.
Question:	How hard is it to change the bag? In other words, how much access should you allow yourself as far as height is concerned
Answer:	The bag is simple to change. Unlatch the lid, remove the lid and remove the bag by pulling it away from the bag fitting at the top and pull the bag out. Replacing the bag is just as easy. Expand the bag and place inside the canister and pull the bag onto the bag fitting until it is against the front of the unit.
Question:	Can I get a longer hose
Answer:	We do not recommend using longer than a 50 foot hose as you will experience a loss of suction. An alternative would be a separate mounting bracket that could be placed in another location in your work area to move the Garage Vac. Thank you for your interest in the VacuMaid Garage Vac.

Answer:	Yes, it comes with 2 bags, a cloth bag for dry vacuuming, and a foam bag for wet vacuuming. They are both re-usable.
Question:	How well does this pick up dog hair out of car upholstery
Answer:	It picked up hair until it stopped working. Strongly suggest not purchasing this unit. I only got about 10 hours or use out of it.
Question:	How strong is the suction for this vacuum
Answer:	- I got mine in May 2016, and it still is strong! Its motor actually has the same HP rating as those of several larger and more expensive units. Frankly, I think it's as strong as my M***e ((name masked for obvious legal reasons, LOL!)) - of course, I do check and clean the seal fairly regularly, and I use it with a "pre-fliter" ((explained below)) plus a bag inside the vacuum itself, rather than relying solely on the included cloth filter since I use it inside the house as a dust-collector for my "creative activities" - which basically means, my hobby of making sawdust ;). But I *have* accidentally picked up some fairly heavy items with it, such as bolts and large steel nuts. The main thing is that it doesn't include a motor-speed controller. I have not tried plugging it into an external controller because, whether I'm using it for hobby-stuff-dust-collection, or, due to it's light weight, using it to do household vacuuming, I *want* it on Full. If I want an adjustable-speed vacuum, or want to use the floor attachment(s), I use the M***e. - Both the inner bag-holder and the pre-filter are "hacks" I dreamed up - I use super-filtering bags in my M***e that remove particles as fine as smoke. But they are loose if just slipped over the port inside the vacuum's body. The hack? Layers of heavy/thick rubber bands - the suction pulls the bag against the "bump" and that both keeps it from slipping off, and also improves the seal between the edge of the bag hole, and the port. --- The "pre-filter" is 2 coffee cans, one stacked on top of the other; the lid of the bottom one has a hole with an emptied cylindrical prescription bottle which is adapted to hold onto the bag and the air is spun by a jury-rigged funnel which opens into the bag; on the other side of the bottom lid, there's a a hole that lets air be pulled out ((to create the suction)). The bottom lid has a ridge on it onto which the top coffee can "nests". Duct tape goes around that part to both seal it, and hold the upper can in place. The hacked-funnel-air-spinner-widget is inside the top can, and the end of a used heavy-duty CPAP hose runs from that collector part to the scroll saw port or whatever tool or hacked "grinding cabinet", etc. I'm using. There is a second hole in the lid of the top can that I deliberately made smallish, and forced the end of the Shop-Vac hose into that, so it seals pretty well. - ANYHOO, the end result is that the motor does not get clogged with fine dust particles that would sneak past, or through, the included cloth filter. - So that has kept it operating pretty well, even when I run it for very long ((1 to 2 hours, occasionally more)) periods of time. - I can't say anything about vacuuming-up water/liquids, though, because I've used my Floor Mate for that. - I bought mine from Amazon Warehouse Deals as a "used" item, BTW, and it's been excellent. - I *have* observed a phenomenon on Amazon where identical items will receive different ratings when one vendor is charging a higher price than another. That's one of the things one needs to watch out for when reading reviews. - I hope that helps! :)
Question:	If I want to use this in my car with a power inverter, what wattage inverter do I need? I can't find any info on the power draw in the description
Answer:	Just to clarify A Newman's contradiction of my answer, if you read his entire statement, he is actually referring to using a cig lighter for transferring the power, however, I was assuming the inverter would be connected directly to the battery, I figured this would be obvious. and of course in doing so, you are not going to "fry" your car's wiring system. to further clarify, hp is a poor measurement and not properly understood, the 1.5 hp 1 gallon vac actually draws 5 amps. I don't feel it would be any problem to connect your inverter directly to the battery, you simply life the hood and attach the cables....LOL., and if you are vacuuming your car, just how difficult is that. The 1 gallon shop vac will do a hell of a lot better job than any cig lighter vac that they sell for 20 to 50 dollars, those vac are useless. so you would be drawing 600 watts, which the 1000 inverter can handle, and most 1000 watt inverters have a peak wattage for start up of at least 1500 if not 2000 watts. Most 250 watt and above inverters tell you in the directions to connect directly to the battery and supply you with cables to do so, that's why I assumed the questionnaire would know this. Now in using a larger shop vac, you would of course need a much larger inverter. but my answer was in regard to using a 1.5 hp 1 gallon shop vac. so thank you for your indulgence.
