Car Washing: Selecting a wash

Dish washing detergents are degreasers that begin to strip away wax and polish and promote oxidation. Two bucket method

Meguiar's recommends the 'Two Bucket' method in conjunction with the Meguiar's Grit Guard (sold separately) to reduce the chances of inflicting swirls into the paint. • Use the soapy water bucket to pick up wash solution with the wash mitt and wash a section of the vehicle.

• Dunk the wash mitt into the rinse bucket to remove any loose contaminants it may have picked up.

• Rub your wash mitt across the Grit Guard and it will further collect debris to thoroughly clean the mitt.

• Dunk the mitt back into the soapy water bucket and pick up fresh, uncontaminated wash solution and work on the next section. Consider putting an additional Grit Guard into the soapy water bucket as an added safety precaution.

Selecting a drying cloth

Answer:	It was a bust. It didn’t work at all. It was cheap so I didn’t bother to return it, but don’t waste your money.

Answer:	Scratches are pieces of the paint removed, and the metal underneath it damaged. So, no, nothing except sanding the scratch out of the metal and repainting is actually going to remove a scratch. Miniscule surface scratches in the top coat only (called "swirls") can be kept filled in regularly and made to look like they're removed, or buffed out of the top coat with a buffer and some compound, but the bottom line is, nothing is actually going to "remove" scratches. It just minimizes their appearance for awhile. And you wash your car FIRST, not after you put this on!
Question:	Will it keep completley remove the scratch or after a few washes does the scratch reappears and I have to keep using this product

Answer:	It would probably take off the prints. However, I would try a clay bar first. It is good at taking off surface contaminants, it will also strip off wax so u would want to wax again after.
Question:	I did some research and found that the unwashable fingerprints, obvious fingerprints, are from sunscreen. Anyone try this on unwashable fingerprints
Answer:	Clay removes above surface bonded contaminants. These impurities feel like tiny grains of sand stuck on your paint. Washing alone can not remove them, not will polishing with and orbital. Also, during polishing, if any of these impurities becomes dislodged, it can end up getting caught in the pad, and marring or scratching the finish. Best bet is to use an actual clay bar, polish with the M02 Fine-Cut Cleaner, and seal with M20 Polymer Sealant, M21 Synthetic Sealant, or M26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax.

• Work in a 1-2 square foot area in a circular pattern, making 4-6 overlapping passes per section.
• Without letting the paint cleaner dry, use a fresh, clean Meguiar’s Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel to remove the residue. Flip your towel to a clean side for a final wipe.
• Reapply the cleaner/polish if you didn’t remove the light defects with the first application. Apply in sections like this over the vehicle.

Method 2: Applying by Meguiar’s MT300 Dual Action Polisher

• Attach Meguiar’s Yellow Foam DA Polishing Disc – DFP5 or DFP6 to the MT300 DA Polisher. Dispense a small amount of the Fine Cut Cleaner directly onto the pad.

Question:	How does this compare to the quick detailer spray
Answer:	It's actually a different product that serves a different purpose. Quick detailer is for when your car is "dusty" or just needs a little refreshening while the spray cleaner will clean a dirty car, unless it's caked in mud. Not only does it clean quite well, but it has a little wax in it that will leave your car shining. I have a black Murano, and I love how it looks after using this stuff. I still use the quick detailer, too, about every other day when it doesn't rain. Both are great products.
Question:	Can it be used for windows
Answer:	You can. I would avoid using it inside the glass, if you use a suction mount for things like a navigation unit, though, as it tends to make the surface too slick for the suction cup to adhere properly.

Answer:	It contains water so the more it’s heated then water is gonna evaporate. Over time you will have less moisture in the spray. So I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s not supposed to get less moist. It’s not supposed to be used as a solid or a paste. It contains water so it can absorb dirt.
Question:	Anyone tried using this on a wet car? Does it streak
Answer:	I use this particularly after it rains, in which the rain serves as a "pre-wash" to rinse away any loose dust and dirt (I also use it when the car is dry, and only requires a light dusting to get rid of the loose dust and dirt). But I do use a leaf blower (mine is a cordless electric: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AXTO41E ) to blast away any excess water, especially those in the cars seams and crevices. It doesn't streak, but depending on how much water is left on the car, you may need to take several extra passes with the mitt/cloth/towel to get everything wiped away (which means you'll need more of them since you don't want to use them once they get soiled). But whether the car is wet or dry, you'll always want to wipe it completely off, because that's how this stuff works.I also use this when the car is still covered in morning dew. Just do the same: make sure to completely wipe everything dry after you spray it on--that's how it works. The water will only mean you have to do more wiping.PS: If you watch the second (longer) video (which is provided by Meguiar's, the same video as this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b51DHV0-hDY ), they explain that if there's excess mud or extremely excessive amounts of dirt, then it should be sprayed off with water before using this stuff. Question:	Can it be used safely on leather
Answer:	I’ve used successfully for years on my leather car seats, leather chairs and sofas, and even leather jackets. No problems.
Question:	Can it be used on glass
Answer:	the instructions state that it can be used on all interior surfaces, including lcd screens. it does not specifically state use on glass but if the glass is in the interior, i guess it can.
Question:	Does this product prevent fading and cracking o dashboard
Answer:	No. Doesn't work for me. Wipes were all dried out before I could use ten of them, and yes, the cap was on tight. I do NOT recommend this product, unless you enjoy throwing your money away.
Question:	Are these anti-static
Answer:	I have not had any problems with them shocking anyone

Answer:	No. And not good for cleaning either. But if the bike is already relatively clean, it will give it a shiny luster. I use it on everything painted and chromed.
Question:	Can I use this on my alloy wheels
Answer:	I only use the wheel cleaner!!!
Question:	Is the ultimate quick detailer a better option for bird droppings
Answer:	Works well on bird droppings but don't let them sit too long. If they are recent, I use distiller water in a spray bottle first.
Question:	whats the difference between ultimate quick detailer and the quick detailer mist and wipe
Answer:	the quick detailer mist and wipe is more for an every day or every several days wipe down of your car; if you do it daily, you will not have to wash your car in most cases; the Ultimate quick detailer (black bottle) can be used once or twice a month and puts a wax like finish on your car and keeps it cleaner between wipes or washes; I have found out that I do not have to use the quick detailer as much if I use the ultimate detailer (black bottle)...hope that helps---both are great products!
