Washing with a two-bucket method

It’s highly recommended to use a “Two-Bucket” method in conjunction with the Meguiar's Grit Guard to reduce the chances of inflicting swirls into the paint. The two-bucket method makes use of one bucket for the wash solution and a second bucket with just plain water to use as a rinse for the wash mitt.

1. Use the soapy water bucket to pick up wash solution with a premium microfiber wash mitt and wash a section of the vehicle.
2. Dunk the wash mitt into the rinse bucket to remove any loose contaminants it may have picked up.
3. Rub your wash mitt across the Grit Guard and it will further collect debris to thoroughly clean the mitt.
4. Dunk the mitt back into the soapy water bucket and pick up fresh, uncontaminated wash solution and work on the next section. Consider putting an additional Grit Guard into the soapy water bucket as an added safety precaution.

Answer:	I guess technically you could, if you made sure the bucket was completely spotless and clean before doing so. But that's just extra work and a risk to your paint which is why most proffeaional detailers have a wheels-only bucket. Less hassle of cleaning it out and less risk.

Answer:	I have no idea how big those bottles are. So I do not know without testing them. But my biggest bottle is 3.5 inches across round. For the bigger holes it is a loose fit. I think I could go 4 inches on some. Good Luck!

Answer:	The Dirt Trap fits snugly in any standard 12’’ diameter bucket; product measures 10 5/16 inches in diameter.

Answer:	The dirttrap has these cyclones in the bottom that help "pull" the dirt and debris below the dirttap itself. Because of its shape, dirt cannot force its way up through the cyclone and back into the regular water. A normal grit guard, however is shaped like a sewer grate, where everything is sort of free-flowing and stuff can land on your mitt even though you wiped it on the grit guard.
Question:	What is the actual measurement? it seems that this is made for chemical guys $15 bucket only. some buckets are narrower at the bottom too
Answer:	It does not go all the way down to the bottom of the orange Home Depot bucket nor the green Menards bucket. It fits snugly about 2 inches from the bottom. It works like this but is difficult to remove from the bucket.

Answer:	This grit guard was made specifically for Chemical Guy's 4.5 gallon bucket. It will not fit a home store 5 gallon bucket perfectly (it will stop about and inch or more from the bottom and if you push it in hard it will be challenging to remove). I found the best bucket for this is an empty drywall mud bucket, which is 4.5 gallons and the same size as Chemical Guy's buckets. You can buy a 4.5 gallon bucket of drywall mud from a home store for about $12.00 vs. Chemical Guy's $17.00 empty bucket.

Answer:	According to sales representatives at Griot's Garage flagship store in Tacoma, WA, the bucket is made in China. Griot's sales reps are trained extensively on every aspect of each item they sell and will demonstrate every product for you in their in-store service bay. They actually go out of their way to tell you where products are made (sometimes, they're a bit apologetic with regard to their power buffers being made in China now, since they weren't always made there). If you ask them to show you what they have that's made in the USA, they'll walk you through the store and point out every item. After venting my disappointment with the lack of quality of this bucket with one of their sales reps, all he could say was, "Yeah, it's Chinese garbage and we need to come up with something better." I've probably spent $1500 in the last year at their store, since I do a lot of detail work and for the most part, love their products. This is one of the worst items they offer in their catalog.

Answer:	For me, yes. It fits the Ettore window mop perfectly. I used to use a round bucket and dip each end of the mop into the bucket. It was more time consuming, especially when you have a lot of windows to wash like I do. I am very happy with this bucket. It is very thick and substantial. I know some people may choke at paying this kind of money for a bucket, but in the end I think it is worth it. Also, it fits nicely on the flip out ledge on my 8' aluminum ladder.
