I don't think mine would get clean in the dishwasher with all the stuck on burnt food that I try to brush off.

The scaling temperature of carbon steel is much lower than Stainless. It scales expanding inside the thin tube until it destroys it. You will be lucky to get one year of service. That's all I got with very light use. For $50 these should be solid Stainless.
