Car Washing: Selecting a wash

Dish washing detergents are degreasers that begin to strip away wax and polish and promote oxidation. For this reason, you should always select a premium pH-balanced, non-detergent car wash soap like Gold Class Car Wash and use at the recommended dilution. This will gently clean, boost gloss and preserve your wax protection.

Two bucket method

Meguiar's recommends the 'Two Bucket' method in conjunction with the Meguiar's Grit Guard (sold separately) to reduce the chances of inflicting swirls into the paint. The two-bucket method makes use of one bucket for the wash solution and a second bucket with just plain water to use as a rinse for the wash mitt.

• Use the soapy water bucket to pick up wash solution with the wash mitt and wash a section of the vehicle.

• Dunk the wash mitt into the rinse bucket to remove any loose contaminants it may have picked up.

• Rub your wash mitt across the Grit Guard and it will further collect debris to thoroughly clean the mitt.

• Dunk the mitt back into the soapy water bucket and pick up fresh, uncontaminated wash solution and work on the next section. Consider putting an additional Grit Guard into the soapy water bucket as an added safety precaution.

Selecting a drying cloth

A premium microfiber drying towel is recommended as it will be absorbent, will reduce friction and will be soft and gentle on the paint. How-to

• For best results, ensure car is cool to the touch and in the shade.
• Rinse surface with water and pour 1 ounce, or 4 cupfuls, of Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo and Conditioner into a wash bucket and add 1 gallon of water.
• Apply to a section with a wash mitt, such as a Meguiar’s Microfiber Wash Mitt, working from the top of the vehicle downward.
• Rinse off with a gentle stream of water to promote a sheeting action.

Answer:	In one of their videos demonstrating how to use Mr. Pink, the recommended mix for a 5 gal. Container is 4 caps full of product. If you use a foam canon, they recommend 2 oz. be poured into the container. I have done both methods and the recommended ratios do a great job. Personally, I prefer using the canon because it is faster and easier than hand washing.
Question:	Will Mr. Pink work and foam up well if used in a foam gun that just attaches to a regular garden hose? I don't have a high pressure power washer

Answer:	I suggest the 16oz if your just doing your personal vehicles. If your going to be washing more than your vehicles, it might be a good idea to get the gallon jug. I have always used Meguiars car wash soap but I decided to try Chemical Guys' Mr. Pink and I LOVE it. I bought the 16oz bottle just in case I didn't like it I wouldn't have a lot of money tied up in it. Either way, 16oz or 1 gallon,,,you can't go wrong...just my opinion.

Answer:	I used it on my black SUV and had no issues. I would just rinse, try warm/hot water if the cold water doesn't work and run over it with a microfiber cloth.

Answer:	Any chemical can harm your pressure washer when injected before the pump. ALWAYS use a downstream injector, is, one that attaches after the pump, before the hose going to the sprayer wand. Then you just need to rinse your hose and sprayer with plain water, no chemicals in your pump and in your seals.

Answer:	It does work with Foam Gun. Makes good foam as well. However rinse very well. Tends to leave a residue. Also I feel like it works just ok. Still a lot of spot. But less the other soaps.

Answer:	This soap will remove street dirt you pick up from the highway. I’m assuming it would remove ash. You might wanna google it. It’s not gonna replace your paints if it’s melted off but will protect the surface left. Good luck.

Answer:	no, you need a foam cannon. if you want a sprayer application for foam. A foam cannon is used with a pressure washer only. and to be effective to make good bubbles you need a 2000psi pressure washer minimum. a pressure washer from 2000psi to 2299psi u need to replace the orifice in the foam cannon to a 1:1 orifice to have that super foam stick foam. if you have the standard orifice in your foam cannon and have a pressure washer under 2300psi then the pressure will not be great enough and your foam will be more watery and will not stick to the car but look runny. if you have a pressure washer 2300 or greater you can use higher ratio orifices or if your foam cannon is equipped iwth standard orifice it would work on a 2300 or higher. You can usually tell when you look at the specs of a foam cannon and it says like up to 2300 psi pressure washer to be used that will tell you it's the larger orifices. The thicker the foam the better it will lift loose dirt to be washed away. i know it's alot of info but hope it helps. I had a 2000psi washer and just replaced the orifice with a 1:1 orifice and it works wonders. The orifices on the foam cannons are super easy to replace there are youtube videso to show u how. and can buy the orifices like the 1:1 if you have the 2000psi pressure washers can be bought here on amazon.

Answer:	Hello, Robert. I'm gonna take a shot at answering for you. I am an aircraft mechanic who owns an aircraft detailing business called AeroDyne Detail. I have used several Chemical Guys wash products on the aircraft I detail. I have used it on aluminum and composite crafts. There is also a lot of bare aluminum and stainless steel on these planes. The wing tip caps and vertical stab caps are usually fiberglass. I have had no issues. If you check the actual Chemical Guys site, you will find that it is pH balanced, which should alleviate most of your concerns. Additionally, most things worth washing with this product have a paint finish or gel coat, so you're really not getting down to a bare surface most of the time. I am in Florida, which is a particularly corrosive environment with the salt air and over the last year I have seen no issues using this product. Worry about strong acid based cleaners taking off your car wax. This car foam seems very gentle and works very well. Have Ph test strips that I use to test PH level in products and tested this car foam to be 6.0 to 7.0Ph level. Which is neutral as stated in description and should be very good cleaning all surfaces on your car, boat, RV, paint and rubber products. Many other products with strong cleaner acids in it test much higher at 8.0 to 12.0 PH that is very Acidic and will break down your protective wax and can damage most surfaces. Hope this helps.

Answer:	This is certainly fine to wash a gel coat anytime but does not offer the protection of a liquid or paste wax which is usually recommended after compounding and polishing.

Answer:	Yes, it is certainly safe on a ceramic coating but keep in mind if you put another wax on top of a ceramic coating it can have an impact on the water beading you may be getting from the coating. Not harmful at all but worth understanding. If that is something you do not want to do you should consider a good wash without wax in it like our Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo Conditioner.

Car Washing: Selecting a wash

Dish washing detergents are degreasers that begin to strip away wax and polish and promote oxidation. For this reason, you always want to use a premium pH balanced car wash soap like Meguiar’s Ultimate Wash & Wax, and dilute it properly. This will gently clean, boost shine, preserve your wax protection while also adding to it.

Two Bucket method

Meguiar's recommends using a “Two Bucket” method in conjunction with Meguiar's Grit Guard (sold separately) to reduce the chances of inflicting swirls into the paint. The two bucket method makes use of one bucket for the wash solution and a second bucket with just plain water to use as a rinse for the wash mitt.

1. Use the soapy water bucket to pick up wash solution with the wash mitt and wash a section of the vehicle.
2. Dunk the wash mitt into the rinse bucket to remove any loose contaminants it may have picked up.
3. Rub your wash mitt across the Grit Guard at the bottom of the bucket and it will further collect debris to thoroughly clean the mitt.
4. Dunk the mitt back into the soapy water bucket and pick up fresh, uncontaminated wash solution and work on the next section. Consider putting an additional Grit Guard into the soapy water bucket as an added safety precaution.

Selecting a drying cloth

A premium microfiber drying towel is recommended as it will be absorbent, will reduce friction and will be soft and gentle on the paint. Meguiar’s Water Magnet Microfiber Drying Towel (sold separately) reduces drying time with less wring-outs. The extra large 22” x 30” waffle textured towel wrings out easily while leaving a spot-free, streak free finish.

How-to

• For best results, ensure car is cool to the touch and in the shade.
• Rinse surface with water. Knock off as much dirt and debris from the paint as possible.
• Pour 1 ounce, or 4 capfuls, of Meguiar’s Ultimate Wash & Wax into a wash bucket and add 1 gallon of water.

• Apply to a section with a wash mitt, such as a Meguiar’s Microfiber Wash Mitt, working from the top of the vehicle downward.
• Rinse off with a gentle stream of water to promote a sheeting action.
• Work in sections over the vehicle.
• Wipe off water immediately with a microfiber drying towel or 100% cotton terry towel to prevent water spotting.

Answer:	Yes it did. We were using a marcher high pressure washer on a dark blue vehicle. We live in a desert climate so a good rinse is critical so detergent doesn’t bake into the finish

Answer:	Hello from Karcher - not recommended since the water in the soap tank will evaporate over time and can clog the small hose feeding the soap into the unit. We recommend diluting the soap first into an empty gallon container (20 parts water, 1 part concentrated soap) then fill the detergent tank on the pressure washer as needed. When the cleaning job is done, pour the unused diluted soap back into the gallon container, fill the soap tank with clean water and run the pressure washer in soap mode to clean the soap tank and feeder hose. Store the diluted soap in the gallon container for next use.
Question:	Will a stronger dilution work better to get all dirt off or is scrubbing necessary
Answer:	For me i still needed a scrubber. I was washing house siding but i think the real problem was my electric washer. If washing siding definitely get one with a gas motor. The detergent makes some difference but it's minimal.
