Answer:	This product is formulated to clean, shine and protect automotive chrome pate without being abrasive. On aged or distressed chrome, it would be recommended to test in an inconspicuous area if that's possible, but it is a gentle polish and on chrome plate that is intact is is completely safe. Keep in mind that this is an automotive polish and not a household polish, but the chrome plated metal process would be the same on either. Answer:	If they are chrome it will work great!
Question:	Is dis good for removing rain spots off chrome rims
Answer:	This is cotton wadding that has been treated with some oil based solvent (something like WD-40?) I once got a can of this in a grocery store auto section but it was dried out and it is useless then. It will turn black as it removes the oxidation but just keep re-folding it to expose clean areas. You can get a lot of mileage out of this stuff. I'm a fan and have used it mostly on chrome. It will also take dried tar of non-ferrous metals . I did use it on old alloy wheels - mostly aluminum, right? - and they went from dull grey to reflecting my hand almost like chrome. I keep Q-Tips in the can and they absorb some of the solvent for use in small areas. But I think the shining effect is less dramatic when the surface is not really smooth to start with - like screen door frames. My alloy wheels probably came out of the factory buffed and smooth as a baby's butt. It is a lot of manual rubbing tho. It dries to a white residue then comes off easily with terrycloth. You'll probably want to wear gloves cause it's oily but not caustic in any way.

Answer:	No. The swab does not react to paint pigment, just the lead content of the paint. Often, when the amount of lead is low, it may take a few minutes to see a reading. Also, the kit contains a test sheet of lead to test the swab if you suspect lead but get no reading.
Question:	Can you use this on lacquered brass? I don't want to remove the lacquer
Answer:	Yes but you will need to find an area that is already chipped or has the different layers exposed to get a good reading. If no area is chipped/exposed you would have to expose it by either using a box cutter or some other means. You need the chemical to interact with the bottom layer of paint which has the more likely chance of lead paint. Hope this helps.
Question:	Can you use this on clear acrylic
Answer:	I just attended an information seminar about lead poisoning and the lady running it said you can use the swab to drip a small amount of the fluid onto the item your testing, then use a q-tip to rub it around. She said doing this, you can get around 7 tests per swab. I haven't tested this though.

Answer:	My guess is a putty knife, then steel wool to scrub. I would use lacquer thinner, outdoors. Dry well, then primer and paint.

Answer:	It should work fine since bronze is an alloy of copper and tin. It works great on brass.

Answer:	Yes, as long as the gold plate coating can not be removed.

Answer:	It seems to be an incredible product. I haven't had time to check out the other things it polishes besides silver, but plan to try it on some old brass pieces I have. But the back of the box lists 20 metals and other surfaces (like glass, porcelain, enamel) it cleans, and it does list stainless as one of the metals it can be used on.

Answer:	I'm using it to polish a vintage trailer which is totally different than most other applications. So far,it has been shiny in the areas I'm using it.

Answer:	Metal polish does not work on anodized metal, such as your screen door.

Answer:	It should. I've used it mainly on stainless steel parts on my boat, but have used it on aluminum framing on a "bimini top", and it worked well on that. One thing to consider, on the car parts the oxidation may have been heated from the engine and be more stubborn.

Answer:	I am going to conditionally say yes, that it will polish your wheels. The condition being how deeply the aluminum was attacked by the cleaner. It may take some work to polish through that layer. I suggest using a folder paper towel to polish the wheel and a soft micro towel to clean it after. Works GREAT on my wheels.

Answer:	Yes, this is great stuff. I use a lot of it in my motorcycle restorations.

Answer:	Not good for painted surfaces. Aluminum and chrome.
Question:	How great does this work compared to White Diamonds metal polish which I don’t think that any work as well for polishing aluminum or stainless steel
Answer:	I think they work about the same. They guy who does our stainless steel welding was a Purple stuff user for years and he now recommends White Diamond.
Question:	How does this compare to White Diamonds metal polish
Answer:	I have never used White Diamond polish. The purple polish works very well on wheels, valve covers, etc. Hope this helps.
