Step 2, Bobbin Type

3 different bobbin types. Plastic Sided (P), Card Board (C) and Side Less (X) Plastic Sided like a regular aluminum or steel bobbins just made by plastic. It is most common and stable bobbin, can be used on all type of machines without issue. So it is customers' first choose. Card Board bobbin with a plastic core but two sides walls use paper to reduce cost. It may load more thread than Plastic Sided bobbin, but paper can not give enough support than plastic. So NOT suggest to use on machines with top load bobbin or with a strong bobbin picker Side less without a core and also no walls two sides, so it is cheapest. Many problems while using, we stopped selling it in the USA and Europe, only at some markets looking for cheap only.

Step 3, Thread Color, Type & Size

We offer White (W) color thread, Black (B) color thread and colored thread with 3 digits color number.

Spun Polyester looks like cotton, soft and strong, it's customers' first choose. Brother new models and other brand machines which without bobbin tension adjustment, can use Spun Polyester as bobbin thread only.

60S/2 (60S2) thread weight 50WT is Brother recommend #90 thread, normal as embroidery bobbin but can be used as sewing bobbin also.

40S/2 (40S2) thread weight 34WT, thicker, normal as sewing bobbin, and thicker thread embroidery bobbin.

Filament Polyester looks like silk, fine thread so with more yards on bobbin but thread with glue. Not good on Brother new models with bobbin thread shows on top of fabric. Normally as embroidery bobbin only.

75D/2 (75D2) thread weight 60WT

70D/2 (70D2) thread weight 60WT, high tenacity like Spun 60S/2.

DTY Filament Polyester looks like normal Filament. Thread with elasticity, not good as bobbin but cheap. For some markets for cheap only.

Difference Between Size A bobbins and Size L bobbins

The only difference between Size A bobbins and Size L bobbins is the height.

The height of Size A bobbins is 11.4mm/0.448＂；The height of Size L bobbins is 8.9mm/0.315＂. Both bobbins have the same diameter, but size A bobbin is a little taller than size A bobbin.

Size A is used by most sewing machines. If your machine makes regular sewing and also you can do computerized embroidery is very portable that your machine use this type of bobbin.

Machine like Brother Innovis and 400D, Babylock Ellegante and Janome use this type of bobbin.

Size L is the most common embroidery bobbin for commercial and home based embroidery machine.

Answer:	I don't think it will fit. Looking at your machine and the hoops, it appears your hoops attach by snapping them down with the metal strip along the side of the hoop. This hoop must slide into the carriage arm and then locked down with the lever. Hope this helps.
Question:	Do you have pre filled bobbins for babylock ellure? i bought the 70d/2 but they don’t work in this machine. i need the ones with the curved bobbins
Answer:	Just looking at the connector side of the hoop it doesn't look the same as the hoops that come with your Brother SE 400. This hoop slides into place. The connector is very smooth edged. The connector side of the SE 400 hoop seems to have four clips. I'm no expert for sure. Just looking at the photos. Each machine also has a max size for hoops because of the depth of the throat. Wish I could be more help.

The only difference between Size A bobbins and Size L bobbins is the height.

The height of Size A bobbins is 11.4mm/0.448＂；The height of Size L bobbins is 8.9mm/0.315＂. Both bobbins have the same diameter, but size A bobbin is a little taller than size A bobbin.

I can tell you I ordered these three rolls and I have stitched out maybe millions of stitches Army, Airforce,Sheriff’s Department of and US Marines and everyday people Mask designs I’m telling you and I should knock on wood I’m still on my first spool and still have more than half of the spool to go. These are very large spoils so large I had to purchase a stand to hold them and it was well worth it. Hope this helps my next order will be for the basics I’m afraid to do reoccurring orders because this is really what the company claims it is. Hope it doesn’t change. I purchased the triple rolls, I use daily and I’m still on the fist roll.

Difference Between SA156 and SA155

A bobbin's diameter and height are called its style. Each sewing machine brand and model uses a particular bobbin style and will not work with other bobbin styles.

• SA156 - also known as Class 15, A style, or Size A is 13/16 inch (20mm) in diameter (approximately the size of a nickel) and 7/16 inch (12mm) high. It's top and bottom, called the flanges, are flat. Most sewing machines use this type of bobbin. If your sewing machine makes computerized embroidery, it probably uses this type of bobbin.
• SA155 or the L style or Size L has the same diameter and flat flanges but is only 5/16 inch (9mm) high. This type is the most common embroidery bobbin for home and commercial sewing machines.
