Answer:	Everything that you basically need. Small pair of scissors. Several colors if thread. Needles. The basket itself is worth it. ReAlly cute and well made. A keepsake basket for sure. I got it for my granddaughter. Good luck.

Answer:	9 inches at it's widest point, ends are not straight across, 6-1/4" depth. It has a roomy top tray, a place on lid to stick needles, a small pocket on lid for tape, whatever. There is a bottom tray. The floral stuff around outside base, is just trim. I use this sewing kit for occasional mending, hemming. It seems to be holding up well, I've had it at least a year.
Question:	What color is the interior
Answer:	The thread included in this kit is not good quality. The seam ripper does not even cut thread. The basket is nice.
Question:	Would this work for knitting supplies
Answer:	Pretty much everything she would need. It is all packaged very neatly and has enough room to add your own things.

Answer:	I’m not sure I understand what you mean. This is an empty storage basket. It’s intended for sewing supplies, but you could use it for anything you like. Given that it is indeed empty, I suppose you could give it to an elementary aged child if you wish.
