Answer:	I don't know what type of pants you are talking about ,but I sew leather and vynal .some satin material and plastic also some microfiber and the only problem I have is it's hard to get the material through the inside part of machine. .I love this little thing. Answer:	Not sure. But I believe they are selling the sewing machine, under the reviews of some type of beads. Because that way it appears to have good reviews. Until you read the reviews and realize they are not for this product. This product is poorly made and doesnt work for even the simplest of projects. I do not recommend this sewing machine.

Answer:	I have not used or tried the H 5532, but looking on line it looks like the difference is the stitches on each machine. Singer 4432 has basic stitches and Singer 5532 has more, but not too many. The accessories are the same plus the machine runs the same. I have really enjoyed the Singer 4432. I can sew on thick fabrics like denim without hardly thinking about it. If you like more decorative stitches then that one would be the one to go for. The rest is all the same.
Question:	Does this machine (the 4432) have "box feed" or the traditional "arc feed
Answer:	The machine has box feed. Now let me break this down to simple terms.Most sewing machines feed dogs( the part that moves the fabric under the needle) move in an arc. This mean they move up and down pulling the fabric each time they rotate to the top. This does not give constant pressure under the fabric and you can move it wheb the feed dogs are down. This may cause a skipped or uneven stitch. This machine has a box feed. This means the feed dogs do not move up and down in an arc. They move the fabric with a continuous pressure on the fabric. This is important when fabric is thick and when it is very thin. It has an adjustable feed which gives you the choice of the amount of feed or pressure. It also has a pressure adjustment on the foot so that you can choose how hard the pressure foot sets down on the fabric. This gives you the ability to adjust the feed to the fabric. For example when you are sewing the butterfly stitch, you want an even pressure so the chain of butterflies is the same each time. You do not want to feed to fast so the pressure is set lower. If on the other hand you are sewing a lot of straight seams and speed is what you want then set more pressure on foot , and feed dogs all the way up. If it is a curve such as a sleeve where you want to go more slowly so you can feed the material in a circle. the feed at medium set and the pressure medium for the material being used will smoothly stitch the curve. Too fast and you can't turn the material as fast as it is going thru. The result is a overrun or bunching of material. Since the bottom of the fabric feed faster than the top always lay the sleeve on the bottom. When the right speed is set the fabric can be eased into place without pinching..I hope this helps others understand the difference in box and arc.

Answer:	I know this is an old question and some of my answers are repeats, but if you are still using this machine and haven't come up with an answer maybe one of the following solutions from my own experience will help you. I love this machine and therefore completed an extensive search for answers to my questions which included: Brother Support (not that helpful), studying the manual carefully & repeatedly, asking sew 'n' vac store employees and lots of Google searches. Here, in no particular order, are advice/solutions that solved my gathering/bunching issue and many other issues. 1. PROPER UPPER THREADING: Regarding threading, let me advise that the thread will jump out of the correct lineup at times so if your stitch changes in a bad way, check that first. Also, I had to use a clip over a piece of foam on the last guide before the needle guide because it popped out constantly, regardless of checking, rechecking and having others check my threading. 2. PROPER BOBBIN THREADING: I am forgetful so actually check the manual each time I thread a bobbin. Improper bobbin threading will really mess you up. 3. CORRECT NEEDLE SIZE & TYPE for specific fabric--VERY IMPORTANT!! Some of this is trial and error. Not all needle/thread guidelines I found applied to my situation. I tried Schmetz--130/705, HaX1 of 15x1--the Brother manual states this as an alternative, but Organ HLX5 (not sold locally) is best. DO NOT use the Schmetz "UNIVERSAL" needles if you are working with a fabric that specifically requires sharp or ball point. The Universal has a slight ball point--not sharp not full ball point. Learned that the hard way. 4. CORRECT THREAD FOR SIZE OF NEEDLE, TYPE OF FABRIC AND EXPECTED END RESULT. (superiorthreads.com is an awesome resource for this and many other sewing, quilting, embroidery questions. They have tons of educational articles and you can email them and receive friendly, personalized assistance for your particular situation. This is not a conflict of interest because Superior does not sell sewing machines and the articles and email support are available even if you don't purchase Amazon does sell a very few Superior products but not many.) Before Superior, I had no idea how many variables were involved in sewing and learned more about thread than I ever wanted to know, but need to know. 5. TENSION--BOTH UPPER TENSION AND BOBBIN TENSION. This is the first machine I have owned that both could be adjusted. Check manual for what correct tension should look like and how to adjust (admittedly the manual is not extremely clear). Bobbin tension is tightened or loosened by a screw at the bottom of bobbin case, and upper thread tension is adjusted by the small knob on the left side midway down. This knob has numbers, but they are essentially useless (even Brother agrees). They are there just to show the concept of righty tighty, lefty loosey--again, trial and error. 6. The LARGE DIAL TO THE RIGHT adjusts the stitch length, NOT the Tension. 7. Always keep the top thread guide pulled to maximum height, and make sure thread is coming out from the correct direction. Thread stands can also help although I have not tried one. Amazon sells these, several kinds. 8. If you use cone spools or slippery thread, you can purchase netting that will keep it from sliding and bunching at the bottom. 9. I have not yet figured out the best setting for the FEED DOG in various situations, but I do adjust it often if feeding seems difficult so far staying mostly within the light green area. Bottom line, your problem could be caused by any, all or some of the above factors. Good luck if anyone finds this answer useful. I can add photos, I think, if needed. Pretty sure this is the longest question answer I have ever written so I am not going to re-read, sorry for any typos or excess rambling.

Answer:	Throat space is the area to the right of the needle when seated at the machine. It is the open area between the needle and the vertical side of the machine that determines how much fabric might fit comfortably within that space when sewing on your project.

I like to sew with the edged 1/4 inch foot. Otherwise, there are many presser feet, including the free motion foot. You can drop the feed dogs to free motion. This is a great quilting machine and has excellent "pin feed," which moves the fabric through like butter. First time threading took longer for me, but after that it was free sailing.If you want to make quilts faster like I do, this is a great machine. I used to quilt with my Bernina, but I like the Brother better. It is more affordable and well made. You should also know that if you use thicker threads (I always use 100% cotton from ConnectingThreads.com), that you will need an 80/12 needle instead of the smaller ones due to the way the machine's tension is set up. Answer:	Even though this machine is not an embroidery machine, you can learn to do beautiful embroidery work on it by learning free motion embroidery. In fact, one of the cool presser feet that comes with this machine is the open toe darning foot, which is a bonus!... People who wish to embroider, use this foot to do so. You Tube has many fine videos that will show you how to do free motion embroidery, on a regular machine, with just an everyday wooden hoop. Just type in free motion embroidery tutorials in the you tube search area, and you will be busy for hours, learning to this method. Enjoy!

Answer:	Depends what you want it for. Simple sewing like clothing or piecing quilt tops should be okay - putting quilts together NO! The throat is not big enough for free motion quilting and it doesn’t do well with bulky material. Your needle will snap, bobbin will have a nervous breakdown and you’ll get error codes that will make you want to pull your hair out when you try to clear them. But if you set on buying this model or the CS6000i here is the skinny - it is easy to use if you stick to the book or YouTube for help and FOLLOW the step by step instructions. It’s a cute machine for newbies but an albatross around experienced quilters necks

I love idea that you can sew without using a presser foot, but can control your stitches on the front of the machine. Love to be able to see when the bobbin is getting low, various speeds, even some decorative stitches for you. It's quiet, fun, light weight for taking to classes, or for my motorhome. Answer:	I work with an older model Singer which is a low shank machine and this foot works just fine. This foot doesn't snap on, but if you remove the entire foot assembly this foot then attaches with no problem and does a terrific job.

Question:	can a beginner use this machine.. i am thinking about the speed
Answer:	Yes - This is one of the easiest machines to use. You will get used to the foot pedal very fast to control the speed. I have given several of these machines away as presents. I also keep two of these machines at all times.They get used of leather work, quilting and wearable art such as jackets and shirts. A great machine !!!
Question:	does this machine have foot pedal
Answer:	Yes there is a foot control but it is the Achilles Heel of the machine. I can't control the machine well with this foot pedal as it is so light weight a wind will tip it over....thus you won't get a smooth start on this machine. You press down a hear a hum and then press again and it goes full speed until you lift your foot back off the pedal. Look for another machine, or better yet try one out at a sewing machine dealer to make sure it works smoothly. My machine is going to Goodwill.
Question:	Can I use my metal bobbins in my machine or do I need to use the plastic ones
Answer:	All top load machines use plastic bobbins except for older early singers with metal bobbin case,there is a magnetic ring attached to the hook center that holds the plastic bobbin case from rattling and to slow its movement, if you use metal bobbins they become held by the magnetic transfer through the bobbin case floor (metal) and limit or restrict bobbin rotation,if you remove the magnet you can use the metal bobbins,however it will be noisey and excelarate wear on the bobbin case
Question:	can this machine sew thru heavy duty canvas or leather
Answer:	I was able to use it to repair the canvas top of my gazebo. In fact, this the primary reason I purchased it. I tried using heavy duty "canvas" rated needles, but was far more successful with smaller standard duty needles even though one of them broke. There were times I had to coax it along when there were like 3 or 4 layers, but once it was going it would just keep on sewing the entire length.

Additional Instructions & Tips for Sewing with the Stippling & Darning & Freehand Embroidery Foot

To attach the Darning & Embroidery Foot, first remove the regular presser foot and presser foot holder. Refer to your sewing machine manual and depending on your particular sewing machine model, either cover or lower the feed dogs to disengage them.

Free Motion Quilting:

Set your sewing machine for straight stitch. No additional setting is needed for length because you determine the length of stitch my how quickly you move the quilt under the needle. With your prepared quilt top, batting and backing, hold the quilt with both hands under the needle. Put the presser foot down and sew a few stitches in place to secure threads. Move the quilt around in a meandering fashion, stitching a continuous line pattern to quilt the quilt.

Thread Painting:

Use a straight stitch and free motion fill shapes with thread. This is a fun and unique way to sew machine made embroidery with beautiful texture. Use a removable fabric marking tool to draw your design on the fabric surface. Fill in each design element with the thread colors desired. Experiment with various types of threads. For example, variegated threads can add interesting dimension. Rayon threads add a beautiful sheen. Metallic threads can be a nice touch for holiday projects or for added drama. When thread painting with rayon or metallic thread, use a SINGER chromium embroidery needle for best results.

Darning and Repair:

You can repair tears and holes in fabric with the Darning & Embroidery Foot. Apply a small scrap of fabric to the back of the area in need of repair. Back the area with a layer of stabilizer. Select straight stitch and sew over the torn area in two steps moving the fabric back and forth to free-motion stitch. In step one, sew back and forth in a vertical motion to cover the affected area. In step two, sew back and forth in a horizontal motion. Once the area has been covered in stitches sew in place a few stitches to secure and trim away excess backing fabric and stabilizer.

Free Motion Monogramming & Embroidery:

You can monogram using free motion with the Darning & Embroidery Foot! Select a ZigZag stitch and set the stitch length to zero on your sewing machine. Mark the desired monogram letters onto your fabric with a removable fabric marking tool. Back your fabric with stabilizer and optionally hoop your fabric. (Hand held hoops are sold as an optional accessory.) Stitch slowly guiding the fabric so that your sewing machine stitches evenly along the lines of the letters. The stitch length is determined by the speed at which you move the fabric. With a little practice this technique can be used to personalize many projects.

Question:	Can this machine be used for hemming jeans
Answer:	I had a hard time figuring out the embroidery tool as a complete beginner. It wasn’t till my pro mother-in-law came over to help that I stopped destroying my items. My main problem was that most embroidered fabric requires not only the right kind of stabilizer under the fabric but also a “topper.” The instructions do not explain this well. I took a class at a local quilting shop and now I am embroidering quite well.
Question:	What warranty is offered and does it have a uk plug
Answer:	I probably would not unless it was a thin piece. That type of material is better left to a specific machine built for that. I would hate to think I burned up the motor on my 1,000 embroidery machine trying to sew a straight stitch in a leather piece.
