Answer:	Not that I know of, at the price of them it is just as easy to buy another set. If not used within a reasonable amount of time, the individual colored paint "dishes" come loose and fall out.

Answer:	Hi Christine, thanks so much for your interest in Color Swell Watercolors :) Since watercolor paint will pool up on plastic and not spread or stick evenly, it may not be the best fit for this project. Suncatcher paint traditionally has a stickier consistently that allows pigment to stay in place and that dries opaque so it allows light through. I hear you can make your own suncatcher paint with the clear elmars glue and food coloring. I hope this help and you consider Color Swell for another project in the future. Currently each color well offers 1.5 grams of paint or enough paint for a few creative projects depending on how much water is used as a base for painting. We also worked to improve the product further on our next shipment to have 2g per paint color well, which is how much is in each of the Crayola paint pans. We have also improved our quality wood brushes to be one size up so they can hold more water. Answer:	I use mine for cleaning the brush. Just wipe the water brush on the sponge and it's good to go for the next color.

Answer:	I'd say it's a M size brush. I sell the 12-pan kits with the small brush and I think I've seen a much larger brush that was about 1/2" dia and this was kinda in between. It's a terrific set. I love it.
Question:	Is this brand for professionals or for kids
Answer:	One easy way to tell if a brand of watercolors is student grade or artist grade is the use of the word HUE in description of colors..A Hue indicted a student grade paint. Not one a professional or serious amateur would choose normally. Most artists have a real preference in their paints so if you are looking for a gift for a serious amateur or professional, a gift card to Cheap Joes or Dick Blick's art supplies would be most appreciated.I'm a serious amateur and for journaling with my sketchbook I prefer Cotman by Winsor Newman pan watercolors. Koi is a solid brand but more for someone who sketches. Also the price is a give away..no quality watercolor pan would sell for that little, even on Amazon. Just an FYI for unexperienced buyers. I'd give this to my grand daughter who is 11 and loves to go paint with Nana..shes pretty talented and this set with the handy water brush would be great for her.Finally about the water brush,,wonderful for travel or vacationing but not for 'real'painting. My #6 round brush cost almost $80.00. Its my treasure. While I use water brushes when out and about, the quality of the bristles is not particularly good.

Answer:	It depends on what you mean. There a colors like yellow ochre and some rose colors that mix light skin tones easily. There are also sepia/umber browns that can be the base of darker skin tones. But it's not like some of the premade pastel skin tone palettes out there; this is a more balanced selection that can mix virtually anything without muddiness.
Question:	Are these better than Sakura koi watercolor set? Are they chalky and have a nice range of skin colors? Is the water brush good
Answer:	I have this set and Koi. I love this set because of the vibrancy of the colors, no problem with mixes turning to mud, and not chalky. I've painted light and medium skin tones with both; and light, medium, and dark skin tone with Koi. I haven't used the brush yet but as close as I've been about to figure out, it's a Size 3 with pointed end. I hope that helps.

Question:	Are these professional artist paints, I don't want student grades
Answer:	No, the Cotman line from Winsor & Newton is their student grade line, and it contains 40 paints. Their professional line is called Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolours, and they cost much more than Cotman watercolour sets. For example, the Winsor & Newton Cotman field kit of 12 colours costs approximately $50, whereas the Winsor & Newton Professional Artist's field kit of 12 colours would run approximately $100 or more. I've been a visual artist/creative professional for nearly twenty years, and I've been using Winsor & Newton products (as well as several other brands) for even longer. The Cotman watercolour line, while being a student grade line, is still very good quality; in fact, there are some professional artists who use Cotman (I've seen portraitists and botanical artists who choose Cotman specifically because it handles well with the way they work), while many others prefer the dense pigmentation of the Professional line. It's all a matter of personal taste and your preferred method of working. In my opinion, this Cotman set would make a fine addition to any artist's media stash. Tip: to get the most vibrancy of your pan colours, spritz them with a little water (or put a small drop of water on the pan colour/s you'd like to use), and let it sit for a moment to moisten and activate. After it's moistened, when you go to use that colour, you'll experience a vibrancy that can rival some professional paints.
Question:	Is the case air tight , non leaking for travel
Answer:	I have traveled across the world with this and kept it in a small ziplock baggie, and even when the colors are a bit moist there is no leaking into the bag that I've experienced.
Question:	How long does it last
Answer:	I have the 48 half pan set and I have had this palette for three years and It has lasted me! You can buy cartridges to replace the colors instead of a whole new palette. I love this palette! It is my first palette that I can refill! The paints are beautiful and I love combining this palette with tubes as well! But anyways to answer your question they will last you a long time! I have half pans that are lasting me forever and I paint every day! And these are full pans so they really will last you! I highly recommend these!
Question:	How do you refill the blocks
Answer:	I've read (on Winsor Newton's info page) that you cannot refill half pans with Winsor Newton watercolor tube paints, as they are formulated differently and will not work well when completely dry. However, Daniel Smith and Holbein watercolors can be used to refill your half pans. M. Graham also works well though they take a long time to dry in a pan because they have honey in them.

Pigments derive from a number of sources: Some are natural products, notably the earths, eg. umbers, ochres; others come from metal compounds and are sometimes termed 'traditional' or 'genuine', eg. ultramarine.

The distillation of petroleum yields an ever widening range of organic pigments which are often termed as 'modern'. Many of the pigments used in Cotman are organic.

Colour Range

The Cotman Water Colour range has a more uniform consistency than the Professional Water Colour range and this benefits beginners as there is less to learn about each individual pigment. The Cotman Water Colour range also relates to the Winsor & Newton Professional Water Colour range, e.g. Burnt Sienna in both ranges has the same hue. This enables artists to use colours from both ranges with minimal adjustment to their technique.

White in the Range

Traditionally the white of the paper provides the brilliance to water colour and can be used as highlights. However, some artists utilize Chinese White for highlights at the end of their painting or in dulling some colour mixtures down.
