Here are some key points about Jacquard fabric glues:

  1. Fabric Compatibility: Jacquard fabric glues are formulated to adhere well to various types of fabrics, including cotton, silk, polyester, and more. They are designed to be flexible and durable, ensuring that the bonded fabric remains pliable and comfortable to wear.

  2. Versatility: These glues are versatile and can be used for various fabric-related applications, such as attaching patches, beads, sequins, rhinestones, or appliqué pieces to fabric surfaces. They can also be used for mending, hemming, and creating fabric crafts.

  3. Washable: Many Jacquard fabric glues are washable, meaning that the adhesive bond remains strong even after washing the fabric. However, it's essential to follow the manufacturer's instructions for the specific glue you are using to ensure the best results.

  4. Application: Jacquard fabric glues typically come in liquid or gel forms. They can be applied using a brush, sponge, or nozzle depending on the product's packaging. Precision tips may be included for detailed work.

  5. Drying Time: The drying time for Jacquard fabric glues varies depending on the product and the amount applied. It's important to allow the glue to dry completely before using or wearing the fabric to ensure a secure bond.

  6. Safety: Always follow safety guidelines provided by the manufacturer, such as using these glues in a well-ventilated area and avoiding contact with skin and eyes. Keep them out of reach of children.

  7. Brands and Products: Jacquard is a well-known brand in the art and craft industry, and they offer various fabric glues under their product line. Different products may have specific features, such as quick-drying or no-sew options.

Jacquard fabric glues can be valuable tools for crafters, sewers, and artists who work with fabric materials. They provide a reliable way to bond fabric components together, add embellishments, and create unique textile projects without the need for sewing in some cases. User questions & answers

Question: I would like to make a wedding handkerchief with this. Can the fabric stand alone? Or does it need a backing? Is it soft enough for a handkerchief
Answer: I use these fabric sheets to make stuffed toys with my daughter's artwork. Based on my experience, the fabric holds the printed image clearly and the colors are true to the original. It's not as soft and pliable as a handkerchief right off the printer, but if you remove the backing and perhaps try dipping the sheet in cold water and then letting it dry, that may soften it. Be careful not to put it in the washer or dryer. The directions indicate you can treat it with Scotchgard or a similar product and then rinse it gently with cool water. Try it both ways - without and with Scotchgard. I hope it works for you. What a fun idea!
Question: How soft are these
Answer: They are very easy to work with. They have paper backing that goes in printer and after you print, the paper is peeled off. The fabric has regular fabric softness.
Question: What kind of scotchguard would you use to keep the color from fading with washing
Answer: I couldn't find pigment ink for my printer so I tried some things. By far, the best sealant I tried is E6000 Spray Adhesive. It's translucent, flexible and stands up to water after completely drying (overnight in my case). I washed my sample twice in the regular cycle and had ZERO degradation to the print design.......I imagine any other spray glue would work. Just like any other spray protection, go lightly as not to weep the ink. I sprayed lightly 3 times with about a half hour in between each application.
Question: once you print a photo on these sheets, and it gets dirty after time, how do you wash it
Answer: The included directions state that the image will not withstand standard washing methods. It needs to be treated for water resistance. They recommend spraying with Scotchguard or similar product using light coats as one heavy one could remove the ink. Finished piece may be dry cleaned. If it was treated with Scotchguard it may be gently hand washed in cool water. I made Christmas ornaments so washing was not a concern. The fabric is rather light weight and very smooth in texture.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this work on cotton? Thanks
Answer: I haven't been able to use it yet. I heard that some people had an issue with the colors bleeding. That was on cotton t-shirts. You might be able to go on Jacquard's website or something and see if it will work on cotton.
Question: can this be watered down so it will soak quickly and easily down into a thicker object - such as fabric cording? Thanks
Answer: I only tried to use this product one time. Was not as easy as the tutorial looked Not sure if my bottle was good the box was left out in the freezing temps for a couple of days. I don't think I would dilute the resist. It should soak into cording but may spread also.
Question: this product serves to what
Answer: Resist is used to draw the borders of an image in silk, stopping the flow of dye at the resist lines. Transparent.
Question: Would this be affective on paper
Answer: No, the resist is very liquid and will soak into the paper. You could try using a colorless wax crayon or plain candle wax. This coats the surface of the paper and allows for resisting of dye to some degree. Then the wax can be ironed off with a paper towel soaking up the melted wax. The problem with using a resist on paper is there is a chance the dye, paint or whatever you are using can seep through the paper if the paper is not heavy like a 140# or 300# watercolor paper. This could allow the dye to migrate into the wax resisted area from the back if the paper is not heavy enough to block such action. You can try regular masking fluid made for watercolors on paper. Apply this, allow it to dry and then apply your dye or paint. Then the masking fluid rubs off with your fingers, much like rubber cement. Masking fluid will dry and clog up anything you use to apply it with (such as a brush or dipping pen), so watching a YouTube on how to apply masking fluid would be helpful before you try and use it. The advantage to using masking fluid is it creates a solid resist barrier, paint or dye cannot leak through it, and the masking fluid dries on the surface of the paper so it will peel off when you're done. In other words the masking fluid does not soak down into the paper fibers. But this is only going to work on an art worthy paper, not copy paper and probably not construction paper. The paper has to have some body to it in order for the masking fluid to work properly.

User questions & answers

Question: I read that this is added to royal icing for decorating cookies. Why
Answer: I honestly don't know. I used mine on the collar of a cotton dress shirt. I just don't know if it will stay adhered to a leather surface, it may peal of as leather has a slicker material to stick to. Sorry.
Question: Can anyone tell me what the diffence is between this one and the liquid & exactly why it is used? whu is a binder used? ty
Answer: I would use another acrylic type paint, one that does not have thickness. The Jacquard Neopaque bottles or Lumiere would be similar in color, but thinner in style - and would lay much more flat than this '3D' paint.
Question: Is this a dry powder
Answer: Metalic rings? Not at all
Question: How much eye shadow, water and how much of this product would you use to make watercolor paints
Answer: I no longer have any of the packaging but I think I had a 1 lb. bag and it was about 1.75 cups.

User questions & answers

Question: Can these be used with alcohol ink
Answer: I'm not sure if this is food grade to add to royal icing. I wouldn't use it that way.
Question: I only count 11 colors in the description. What is the 12th color
Answer: Never used liquid. used powder t/make my own sparkle watercolors. U can bind sparkle powder (found @ Michael's crafts) into watercolor paint by combining binder, soparkle powder & water. B :-)
Question: what are the colors in this set
Answer: Yes, it is a fine grain powder. Put it in first by the way or else it will sit on the surface unless stirred vigorously.
Question: Can I use these as colorants in homemade soap
Answer: Unfortunately the answer is really that it depends and you need to experiment. It depends on what you want in terms of density and look in your paints. In commercial water colors the amount of pigment to binder can vary from 10 to over 50% pigment. Your eye shadow will have its own binders/fillers so a reasonable starting point might be 1 part pigment to 1 part gum with enough water to get the consistency you want. Keep in mind that a little bit of water color paint goes a long way - 1/8 tsp of each will certainly be enough to experiment with (use an eye dropper for adding water). Too much gum will give your paint a glossy sheen, too much pigment will reduce the working time of the paint and make it difficult to control the consistency.
