They live 1,000 miles away so I've not seen this easel.My son wants you to know this easel can be put in two standing positions--tall and shorter. This can also be turned into an easel with a drawer which sits on a tabletop.He said the distance at the bottom of the easel & drawer is approximately 12" wide & said this won't change in the two upright positions. He also said the spread at the bottom is roughly 2' wide. I'm unclear if the 2' is for the taller or shorter positions. My 8 yo granddaughter has the easel in the shorter position. She really likes this easel & drawer.My son is extraordinarily hands on. He did comment that he had to go online for instructions.
