Question:	Would this be suitable for string art? Where you put small nails into the wood in a shape and tie string around the nails to fill in the shape
Answer:	I bought these dishes last year and they are my "every day" dishes so I always put them in the dishwasher for cleaning. No fading or cracking on them has occurred for me. I also place cooked food into the bowls and plates of this set and then put them into my convection oven to keep those foods warm while I finish cooking other foods so that all the food is hot when served. I frequently put the salad/sandwich plates in my microwave oven to cook or heat up food/liquids. I've had no problems with this set of dishes.

Answer:	Yes. In comparison to my cheap Target dishes (only 1 of which has chipped after 8 years) 3 mugs have lost their handles and 1 bowl has been chipped from our Gibson Elite dishes (after 3 years). They do chip relatively easily.

Answer:	A reactive glaze is frequently used in ceramics, stoneware and pottery. These kinds of glazes are also known as variegated or mottled. They take on a "special effect" of color and are not solid or flat looking. The drawer is about one inch to one and one half inches deep. I forgot. Amazon would do itself and others a favor if they would photograph objects next to something that would provide scale.

Answer:	Actually, they didn't come in a box. They were just in a heavy plastic bag. I was surprised by this because I think they could have been dinged up pretty easily. Answer:	I do not know, if the edge will support any sort of routed groove.

Answer:	It is about 1/8 inch maybe a little thicker. The frames are very sturdy. We used craft spray and sprayed down a fabric art panel and then wrapped it around the edges and stapled it to the back. Very strong wood. The staples had to be hammered in the rest of the way.
