We ended up drawing on the paper with it laid out on the floor and resorted to taping single sheets onto the front of the easel.

The weight of the roll is 980 grams, so the paper is of around 72 gsm quality. It's almost similar (in paper weight terms) to the multipurpose paper reams you would find in stores such as Staples.
