Insert the narrow end of the new cartridge into the black of section block with enough pressure to create a snug fit. The pin inside the section block will puncture the seal of the cartridges, allowing ink to flow into the section block. Screw the barrel on over the cartridge into the section block.

When you fill the pen at the first time, you can swing the pen to make a few drops of ink coming out of the nib, so that it can flow easily.

Answer:	Because it has nice bottle, intense and satuirated colors. Of course you can buy vbottle of decent inkl for around 7 - 10 dollars. I know cheaper inks that are amazing. However some of Iroshizuku inks are unique due to amazing and vibrant color and great properties (oftentimes amazing and vibrant colors made by other producers cause some problems). I'll just name my favourite ones: Yama-Budo, Chiku-Rin, Tsukushi or Yu-Yake. Besides I believe it's not that expensive given the fact you'll need quite some time to finish the bottle. Think of it this way, some people are ready and willing to pay 30 - 50 - 100 dollars for a bottle of wine they'll drink to the diner. The bottle of the ink will last much longer :)

Answer:	You can also syringe refill from bottles if you don't have a converter. Which is exactly what it sounds like, and incredibly easy. I do it for one of my Parker Pens that I just don't feel like getting a new converter for. You put the syringe in the bottle, pull in some ink then slowly squirt it in the cartridge until it's filled, the put it back in the pen. Someone, mentioned youtube. That's a great resource, I like goulet pes' videos and srebrown I think is the name, that's close enough if you search that + fountain pen you'll find them. Informative and don't talk down to viewers or comments like some do.

Difference between carbon ink & non-carbon ink:

Carbon ink is a special black pigment ink. The advantage is that it is particularly black and has a strong handwriting. This is also a common advantage of pigment ink. The disadvantage is that the carbon component is easy to precipitate, and then the pen is blocked, which is difficult to clean.
