Answer:	I have used the monitor downstairs with a camera upstairs in what Kodak calls "Direct Connect" but the signal gets weak in many spots... Router mode works much better. But if it will work in your home is almost impossible to answer because of there are many things in a home that can affect range for radio devices. If you have or have not had issues with other radio devices or with WiFi in the past you can expect similar results as I believe the cameras work in similar frequency range.
