Question:	can it be spread with a stick or brush
Answer:	Yes you can, but be sure you thoroughly mix the two parts together. If you do, you will have no problem. I would add, that if you pour the mix into a mold that is narrow and tall, like the graphite shaft of a golf club (something I did) you will develop noticeable heat which accelerates the cure, you can reduce the hardener to less than 1-1. Also, on thick pours, you will want to watch the mixture for the first hour and use a heat source to eliminate bubbles coming to the surface. Mix thoroughly but mix slowly and smoothly to avoid creating excess bubbles.
Question:	Is this product usa nsf
Answer:	This is not the product for joining wood, you would want to use a regular epoxy and add some fillers.
Question:	My bbq pit has a wood table attached to it ,can i use epoxy on in for a custom design without the resin melting or burning
Answer:	It is possible to be FDA approved. However, because the customer is mixing/pouring we cannot say this is FDA approved. Each mixture/application would have to be assessed individually.
Question:	Can i use this as a leveling agent on a low spot on vinyl floor prior to laying a laminate floor over top
Answer:	Yes, you can. However, this requires thin pours of no more than 1/8" per application. Therefore, you would have to build up the layers. Crystal Clear Finish

High gloss, ultra clear finish makes our epoxy perfect for Table Tops, Bars Tops, Coffee Tables, Live Edge Tables and other coating applications. However, epoxy is not flexible. River tables must be supported to prevent flexing which could cause cracking.

Common Question: My project is painted or stained with an oil based product, what can I do?

A: You can apply a water based clear coat (must be water based). Once the water based clear coat has fully cured, you can apply the epoxy. If the clear coat leaves a shine/gloss you may want to scuff the surface to ensure the epoxy properly sticks. We recommend using 320 grit sandpaper. If you do sand, be sure to thoroughly clean the surface prior to applying the epoxy. We recommend using Isopropyl Alcohol 99% (be sure it is 99%) to clean.

UV Resistant

Although most epoxies will yellow over time, some resist yellowing caused by exposure to ultraviolet light better than others. Our epoxy contains UV Inhibitors which helps to resist yellowing. *Although our epoxy is UV resistant, which resists yellowing, we do not recommend leaving finished projects in direct sunlight or for permanent outdoor applications.

Common Question: Can I use this on a table that will be outside on a covered patio?

A: It is possible to leave the epoxy outdoors if not exposed to direct UV exposure. If the epoxy is exposed to direct UV, the epoxy can yellow. This will be more noticeable on white or lightly colored substrates/surface. We recommend exercising caution when considering use over white or light-colored surfaces.

It is also important to consider temperature fluctuations. Materials such as metal and glass can expand and contract at a different rate from the epoxy. This could cause glass to crack or the epoxy to peel away from a metal surface.

Food Safe Epoxy

Properly cured epoxy is possible to be food safe. However, because the customer is mixing/pouring we cannot say this is food safe approved. Each mixture/application would have to be assessed individually. This is not a high heat epoxy. We recommend using hot pads/coasters for coffee mugs, hot pans, pots, etc.

Common Question: Can I use this epoxy to make tumblers?

A: We have many customers using our epoxy for custom tumbler designs. However, this epoxy self levels. Therefore, many customers utilize a "cuptisserie" which is a rotating device that keeps the tumbler rotating while the epoxy is curing so that the finish is even.

Again, keep in mind: Properly cured epoxy is possible to be food safe. However, because the customer is mixing/pouring we cannot say this is food safe approved. Each mixture/application would have to be assessed individually.

Colored Epoxy Compatible

How To Color Epoxy: Our epoxy mixes well with mica pigment powders for colored epoxy applications. River tables, resin art canvas and more may require tinted epoxy. Epoxy is not meant to be mixed with or poured over oil-based products. Do not pour over oil-based paint or stain.

Common Question: What type of pigment or dye should I use with this epoxy.

A: We do not recommend mixing epoxy with paint or anything oil based. Many of our customers use mica pigment powders. Mica pigment powders come in many different colors, glitters, metallics, and even glow in the dark.

Q: How Much Pigment Powder Should I Use?

A: This is a subjective answer as it depends on the certain hue and level of opacity desired. We suggest starting with a very small amount and adding more until the desired color is achieved. We also always suggest testing a small scrap piece of material to understand how the epoxy will flow and how the color will cure in the epoxy.

Common Question: Can I apply epoxy over paper products like photographs, cigar wrappers, playing cards, and more?

A: If you wish to apply paper decals, bottle caps, or other objects under the Table Top surface, those objects need to be bonded to the surface with craft glue or a thin layer of Table Top Epoxy. Paper products must be sealed prior to applying any epoxy as the epoxy could soak in and ruin the paper product.

You can use something like mod podge or a similar water based clear coat/glue. Allow this seal coat to dry thoroughly before applying epoxy. For figurines, shells, and other large more three-dimensional items, using a thin epoxy seal coat is best, prior to encapsulating.

Question:	Id like to dye the epoxy different shades of green but I need it to stay transparent. Any suggestions
Answer:	There are various dyes and pigments to choose from. It really depends on how deep of a green you'd like while maintaining transparency. I would suggest trying multiple on a sample area so that you can gauge the color/transparency of the pigment/dye.
Question:	I have stained my bar top with an oil based stain. Can I use the epoxy over it or do I need to do some other prep
Answer:	You can use a water-based clear coat on top of the stain. After the clear coat has cured, use a 320grit sand paper to take the shine off. You can then apply the table top epoxy.

Question:	I have a heavy marble table, the bottom mount under the top broke off, would it be strong enough for this application
Answer:	I got a job to put together a 13 foot marble altar, weighing several tons. I used this stuff to glue the hundreds of marble pieces together, after testing the bond strength, and it's still standing today. Granted there isn't any real strain on the joints in most places, but the bond is stronger than the marble itself. This is good stuff.
Question:	Can it fix on the cracks of corina counter top
Answer:	Hi Chris,It is great for crack repair as long as the crack is wide enough to be able to get the material down in it. A good rule of thumb is that crack needs to be wide enough to get a credit card wedged between. Good luck!
Question:	What type of colorant can be used with the product - is the resin considered a polyester resin. The product details are not very precise
Answer:	For coloring the resin I have used Custom 4 Coloring Kit for Epoxy Gluing or Repairing of Granite,...Sold by: GRANITE POLISHING PADSYou can order this item from amazon. The dye is very efficient and seems to work very well with the resin. Yes this epoxy appears to be some sort of polyester. As soon as u add the hardener the epoxy hardens fast but it gives you enough time work with. My results were very good although didn't polished it yet. Good luck

Is It Food Safe?

To consider a product food safe, the end product must be tested. Since every project is made by a different artisan and not in the same exact way, and our product comes in two parts that must be mixed, every finished piece must be tested. Once Super Clear Table Top Epoxy has cured, it becomes safe, per FDA code, 21CFR175.300 which states "Resinous and polymeric coatings may be safely used as the food-contact surface of articles intended for use in producing, manufacturing, packing, processing, preparing, treating, packaging, transporting, or holding food" and can be used as a "functional barrier between the food and the substrate" and "intended for repeated food-contact and use.”

Question:	can you use this on a vertical suface
Answer:	I had luck doing a vertical pour on a penny backsplash in my kitchen. I would recommend many small pours and focus on about a 3x3 area at a time. It was a gamble but it turned out great and wipes down fabulously
Question:	What is the cure time
Answer:	For a seal coat, I waited about 3 days before I added additional layers. The last pour was about 1/4 - 3/8 inch and I let it set a week before doing anything with it. The epoxy was hard within a day or so, but I don't know if it would be cured all the way through.
Question:	After the resin is mixed, how much working time does it have
Answer:	Thanks for the question. There is approximately a 30 minute gel time at 77F. To be safe I'd assume about 20-25 minute pot life depending how much you mixed up. If you mixed a lot of epoxy together it would be a bit quicker; it would also be quicker if the working temperature was over 80F. I hope that helps. Let us know any other questions!
Question:	Will this work for a 2” cork table
Answer:	Yes, it will work for a cork table. Make sure the corks are secured to the bottom surface otherwise the corks will float. You may need to tend to it with a heat gun as air bubbles will continue to rise up to the surface due to the gaps in the corks and epoxy filling in underneath. We recommend checking on it every 15 minutes at 70 F within the first hour of pouring to release air bubbles. Hope that helps!

Answer:	Although our epoxy is UV resistant, which resists yellowing, we do not recommend leaving finished projects in direct sunlight or for permanent outdoor applications.
Question:	What do you use to thin this
Answer:	As long as this is water-based and it has fully cured, this should be fine. On the other hand, epoxy cannot be poured directly over oil based products. How long ago did you apply the water based primer?

Is cured TableTop food safe?

TotalBoat TableTop contains no harmful VOCs, which means a safer work environment when mixing, pouring, stirring & spreading, but be sure to wear proper gloves and have adequate ventilation.

TableTop is also BPA-free, so once cured, it's more suitable for contact with food. That said, we don't recommend using epoxy for a cutting board.

Q: What’s the coverage for TotalBoat TableTop Epoxy?

A: At 1/8” thickness: 6 sq. ft. per mixed 2-Quart Kit; 12 sq. ft. per mixed Gallon Kit; 24 sq. ft. per mixed 2-Gallon Kit. At ¼” thickness: 3 sq. ft. per mixed 2-Quart Kit; 6 sq. ft. per mixed Gallon Kit; 12 sq. ft. per mixed 2-Gallon Kit.

Q: Why do I need multiple coats? Won’t one thick coat do the trick?

A: Multiple thin layers give you a sealer/leveling coat and as much build as you would like without the high risk for errors, bubbles, or a wavy surface.

Q: Can I use it on my bar top outside?

A: You can, but it will be exposed to UV rays that can make it look amber or delaminate over time, depending on substrate. You’ll want to overcoat it with a quality UV-filtering varnish.

Prepare the surface

• To contain the liquid epoxy, apply plastic packing tape (as it can be removed easily) around the edges of the table.
• Delicate objects such as photos or maps can be damaged by epoxy. Coat them first with an alternate clear coat (polyurethane or acrylic sealers are recommended) before applying TableTop Epoxy.
• Combine the epoxy resin (Part A) and hardener (Part B) at the specified, simple mix ratio of 1 to 1 by volume, and mix for 3-5 minutes, then transfer to another mixing cup and keep stirring until the mixture is blended thoroughly.
• To begin, use a brush to apply a very thin sealer coat of TableTop Epoxy to the table top or bar top to seal porous surfaces. This includes applying a thin sealer coat to any objects that will be embedded. If you skip this step, the porous surface or embedded objects will release large air bubbles that can ruin your project.

Pour the mixed epoxy

• Once the sealer coat has set, apply a flood coat.
• Pour less epoxy into any narrower areas, and more epoxy into wider, more open areas.
• Each flood coat should be no more than 1/8” thick.
• You can pour multiple flood coats (waiting at least 4 hours in between each coat) until you achieve the desired thickness. Tip: Multiple pours are recommended. Do not attempt one thick flood coat because air bubbles will get trapped beneath the surface, and the excess heat generated by a thick pour will distort the surface itself. The epoxy will not self level or cure properly.

Spread evenly

• Flood coats will flow and self level, but tools such as brushes, plastic spreaders, and squeegees may be used to help spread the mixed epoxy resin evenly across the surface.
• If you like, you can embed objects such as shells or bottle caps at this stage. You can also embed objects in subsequent flood coats in order to make the objects appear to float beneath the surface.

Remove surface bubbles

• A few minutes after the flood coat is applied, bubbles will rise to the surface. To pop the bubbles, use a heat gun (or butane torch) on low power, hold it six inches above the surface of the epoxy resin, and slowly sweep the heat gun back and forth over the surface, until the bubbles disappear. It's very important to wave the heat gun around and keep it moving, so you don't burn or singe embedded objects.
• TotalBoat TableTop Epoxy can usually be recoated in 4-8 hours without any additional prep work or sanding.
• If the previous layer is allowed to dry completely, the surface should be scuff-sanded with 220-320 grit sandpaper, for optimal adhesion between coats. After sanding, wipe the surface with a solvent such as acetone or denatured alcohol to remove dust and other contaminants. Allow the surface to dry before applying the next 1/8" flood coat.
• For any areas that have blemishes, sand with 80-grit sandpaper, before applying a final coat.

Question:	Why can't you send this to Japan if I pay for the shipping
Answer:	I don’t know but it may have to something to do with shipping the specific chemicals. If they spill and mix they could cause an exothermic reaction and can catch on fire.
Question:	how much resin will I need to pour a table top that is 40"x
Answer:	You will probably need about 3 quarts of mixed product I did a table that was 72 x 48 and it took about a gallon per pour. you will need to do at least two pours waiting a few days between. You will need to sand between the two pours. I wound up doing 3 coats because I'm super picky and the wood I was working with was very absorbent I will warn you the finish is beautiful and we have been using the table for a year and it is holding up very well but it is prone do damage from heat, like a hot coffee cup will leave a ring it is only safe up to 130 degrees..
Question:	How long do I need to wait in between pours for casting
Answer:	Our 1st time, we waited about 24 hours, but then made some changes. One our second project, we waited about about 4 hrs between pours. The depth was 1/8" and it was set, but still tacky. This made the second pour easier because with it being tacky the pour was able to fill any imperfections from 1st pour. Hope that helps

Answer:	It should have come with a card outside the box with instructions if not then u can click on the brand name on ur order list to email the company. It's very easy just says to mix 50% of each and mix for few min til consistency is even then pour. Takes about 24-48 hrs to set completely. Rinse cup and stir stick with soap n hot water to reuse

Question:	What is the maximum thickness of this epoxy
Answer:	This epoxy requires thin pours of no more than 1/4" per application. However, multiple layers can be poured. We recommend waiting until the prior layer is tacky to the touch (usually 4-6 hours) to pour an additional layer.
Question:	at a half inch depth how many sq feet does the 2 gallon kit cover
Answer:	We have a coverage calculator on our site. Do you need a seal coat? Will you build a dam? Our general rule of thumb is 12 sq ft. per mixed gallon at 1/8 inch. Do not mix more than 1 gallon at a time and do not pour more than 1/4 inch per application. In your case, a 2 Gallon kit would cover approximately 6 sqft at 0.5 inch. However, do NOT pour more than 1/4 inch per application or you risk an accelerated reaction. Wait until the previous layer is tacky to the touch (usually 4-6 hours depending on temperature) to pour the next layer. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Question:	May i used this for a countertops that have the heat coming from the stove ? Will it hold up
Answer:	This is not a high heat epoxy. We recommend using hot pads/coasters for coffee mugs, hot pans, pots, etc. High heat epoxies are quite a bit more expensive.
Question:	Can't find indication of coverage anywhere. Help. I don't know how much to buy
Answer:	at 1/8 thick it is like 26 gallons for 350 square feet, realy allot more than I would have thought, I learned the hard way too

Crystal Clear Finish

High gloss, ultra clear finish makes our epoxy perfect for Table Tops, Bars Tops, Coffee Tables, Live Edge Tables and other coating applications. However, epoxy is not flexible. River tables must be supported to prevent flexing which could cause cracking.

*Do not pour over oil-based paint or stain.

Common Question: My project is painted or stained with an oil based product, what can I do?

A: You can apply a water based clear coat (must be water based). Once the water based clear coat has fully cured, you can apply the epoxy. If the clear coat leaves a shine/gloss you may want to scuff the surface to ensure the epoxy properly sticks. We recommend using 320 grit sandpaper. If you do sand, be sure to thoroughly clean the surface prior to applying the epoxy. We recommend using Isopropyl Alcohol 99% (be sure it is 99%) to clean.

UV Resistant

Although most epoxies will yellow over time, some resist yellowing caused by exposure to ultraviolet light better than others. Our epoxy contains UV Inhibitors which helps to resist yellowing. *Although our epoxy is UV resistant, which resists yellowing, we do not recommend leaving finished projects in direct sunlight or for permanent outdoor applications.

Common Question: Can I use this on a table that will be outside on a covered patio?

A: It is possible to leave the epoxy outdoors if not exposed to direct UV exposure. If the epoxy is exposed to direct UV, the epoxy can yellow. This will be more noticeable on white or lightly colored substrates/surface. We recommend exercising caution when considering use over white or light-colored surfaces.

It is also important to consider temperature fluctuations. Materials such as metal and glass can expand and contract at a different rate from the epoxy. This could cause glass to crack or the epoxy to peel away from a metal surface.

Food Safe Epoxy

Properly cured epoxy is possible to be food safe. However, because the customer is mixing/pouring we cannot say this is food safe approved. Each mixture/application would have to be assessed individually. This is not a high heat epoxy. We recommend using hot pads/coasters for coffee mugs, hot pans, pots, etc.

Common Question: Can I use this epoxy to make tumblers?

A: We have many customers using our epoxy for custom tumbler designs. However, this epoxy self levels. Therefore, many customers utilize a "cuptisserie" which is a rotating device that keeps the tumbler rotating while the epoxy is curing so that the finish is even.

Again, keep in mind: Properly cured epoxy is possible to be food safe. However, because the customer is mixing/pouring we cannot say this is food safe approved. Each mixture/application would have to be assessed individually.

Colored Epoxy Compatible

How To Color Epoxy: Our epoxy mixes well with mica pigment powders for colored epoxy applications. River tables, resin art canvas and more may require tinted epoxy. Epoxy is not meant to be mixed with or poured over oil-based products. Do not pour over oil-based paint or stain.

Common Question: What type of pigment or dye should I use with this epoxy.

A: We do not recommend mixing epoxy with paint or anything oil based. Many of our customers use mica pigment powders. Mica pigment powders come in many different colors, glitters, metallics, and even glow in the dark.

Q: How Much Pigment Powder Should I Use?

A: This is a subjective answer as it depends on the certain hue and level of opacity desired. We suggest starting with a very small amount and adding more until the desired color is achieved. We also always suggest testing a small scrap piece of material to understand how the epoxy will flow and how the color will cure in the epoxy.

Common Question: Can I apply epoxy over paper products like photographs, cigar wrappers, playing cards, and more?

A: If you wish to apply paper decals, bottle caps, or other objects under the Table Top surface, those objects need to be bonded to the surface with craft glue or a thin layer of Table Top Epoxy. Paper products must be sealed prior to applying any epoxy as the epoxy could soak in and ruin the paper product.

You can use something like mod podge or a similar water based clear coat/glue. Allow this seal coat to dry thoroughly before applying epoxy. For figurines, shells, and other large more three-dimensional items, using a thin epoxy seal coat is best, prior to encapsulating.

HIGH GLOSS FINISH

Epoxy resin leaves durable, blemish resistant, water resistant and impact resistant coating.

The beauty of epoxy is the ability to recoat a surface after years of use to regain a smooth, high gloss finish.

Common Question: I see that your epoxy requires thin pours of no more than 1/4" per application. How long do I need to wait between pouring a new layer?

You can apply the second coat when the prior coat is tacky to the touch (usually 4-6 hours depending on temperature). If you wait longer than 12 hours between coats, we recommend a light sanding. You can use 320 grit to scuff the surface. This will help the next coat to properly stick. If you do sand, be sure to thoroughly clean the surface prior to pouring the flood coat. We recommend using Isopropyl Alcohol 99% (make sure it is 99%) to clean.

Common Question: Does your epoxy require specific temperature environment to mix/pour epoxy?

A: The ideal working temperature is around 77°F. Best results can be obtained at temperatures between 75°F and 85°F, in a clean, dry, dust-free environment. Avoid working in high humidity. It is important you keep your project in this environment throughout the entire curing process. 2. The resin and hardener mixed in a 1:1 ratio must be measured by volume rather than weight.

3. Stir epoxy resin slowly and thoroughly uniform until art resin becomes clear(stirring too fast can cause bubbles).When epoxy resin becomes smooth((watery status),pour it into the model to ensure sufficient self-leveling

Answer:	Yes... I have used mod podge over all colors and it even works over glow in the dark paint. Mod podge give a clear shiny finish. Hope this helps...
Question:	What is the temperature resistance on this product
Answer:	I would not put it in the dishwasher. Normally any kind of glassware that has an additional layer like paint or mod podge needs to be heated onto thesurface to adhere. Since I am not a Mod Podge representative I am not certain of the process for it on glass. I have only used it or porous surfaces like wood. My best guess, it is not dishwasher safe, but you could test it on an old jar and then put it in the dishwasher to see if it peels. off.

To consider a product food safe, the end product must be tested. Since every project is made by a different artisan and not in the same exact way, and our product comes in two parts that must be mixed, every finished piece must be tested. Once Super Clear Table Top Epoxy has cured, it becomes safe, per FDA code, 21CFR175.300 which states "Resinous and polymeric coatings may be safely used as the food-contact surface of articles intended for use in producing, manufacturing, packing, processing, preparing, treating, packaging, transporting, or holding food" and can be used as a "functional barrier between the food and the substrate" and "intended for repeated food-contact and use.”

Question:	Can this be squeegeed out over a floor 1/16 Of an inch thick to create a durable topcoat
Answer:	Absolutely! This product is great for casting. It will dry to a crystal-clear finish.
Question:	How many square feet does a gallon cover 1/8 thick
Answer:	While Superclear has more UV Inhibitor than any other epoxy on the market, like all epoxies, it can yellow in direct sunlight over-time. Superclear dries absolutely crystal clear and will resist yellowing in sunlight much longer than others on the market.
Question:	Is this safe to pour on a table inside my house? Or does it have bad fumes
Answer:	Are you asking if dry ice can be recycled? If there was dry ice in your package, it would have disappeared shortly after you opened the box. Dry ice comes in blocks or chunks that are milky white, and it evaporates quickly at room temperature. Usually the box will be labeled very clearly that it contains dry ice since it’s a burn hazard. Dry ice will bubble and “smoke” when dropped into water, and it will not leave a puddle of water like regular ice will. If your package came with small frozen bags, those are usually made with some sort of frozen gel or liquid that is nontoxic and usually reusable. If you are curious if the ice packs that were in the box are reusable and how to dispose of them, look on the outside of the ice pack itself; they will usually be labeled with disposal instructions, if they are reusable and sometimes a brand name. Most can be thrown in the freezer to be used again.
Question:	Can I top coat with pro marine epoxy? I have some left over from another project and would like to use it up

MPC-100 is a 2-component, 100% solids, self-leveling, and high-build epoxy floor coating. It is designed to be used as a protective floor coating on concrete, over an existing epoxy coating, or to create metallic/decorative flooring systems. It can also be used as the binder component for resurfacing or patching surfaces exposed to severe and aggressive industrial environments. MPC-100 is a specifically formulated cycloaliphatic coating that reduces water spotting and amine blushing while providing excellent adhesion, abrasion, impact, and chemical resistance. This coating contains no solvent, is compliant with the CFIA regulations for indirect food contact, and meets the VOC regulations limit of under 100 g/L for architectural floor coatings. Question:	Can you you use this to put over a led light strip on a snowboard? I really just want to know if it will hold
Answer:	You'll need to create an airtight mold going beyond some tape. Hot glue with a solid surface, followed by some cutting, sanding, and polishing. I do know this resin is flexible compared to others that dry brittle, so it's a great choice
Question:	Is it 1:1 ratio by volume or by weight
Answer:	Appears the mfr. mixes measurements on the bottle. Volume of each container is stated as 240ml, but instead of staying with ml which is the same as cubic centimeter measure, the mfr. switches to weight from volume, making it confusing to those that get the difference. But doesn't state the specific gravity of each part. That's scary, and possibly why so many people say it stays soft and flexible and takes days to harden! I can't afford to ruin my project with soft resin, so I will weigh it when it arrives since the mfr. can't stick to one type of measure. I'll measure the height and diameter of each bottle. If discrepancy of volume, will update and advise. If it's all good, will not update.
Question:	How long does it take to cure
Answer:	24-48 hours
Question:	Can I use paint to color this Resin
Answer:	Use Micah powder instead. Super cheap, luminescent, and it won't have a chemical reaction during drying time. Paint will work, but heat discoloration is a "maybe/probably" situation that depends on brand/type.
