| Answer: | Rather than scissors I might suggest using these blades, they cut like the proverbial hot knife through butter with very heavy belt-thickness leather. The company has two versions of their baldes, one for abrasive things like sheetrock and this one that I prefer which is for clean cutting things like leather and cardboard etc. : Tajima LCB-30RB Precision Craft Endura 3/8-Inch Razor Blades, 10-Pack. I use them in these: HAUTMEC Innovative Dual Use Mechanism Box Utility Cutter .... and I also very much like this: Gerber EAB Lite Pocket Knife 31-000345 with a different Tajima blade for it . I think for leather work these might be much better than scissors. I just used the HAUTMEC with the Tajima blade this afternoon on heavy belt-thickness vegetable tanned leather to make some stacked-and-glued-togehter leather polishing wheels for my bench grinder. I will use them with polishing compound to get that final edge when sharpening knives. It cut so easily, all the way through the thick leather with little effort. Didn't even need to go over the cut a second time to finish the cut. Just one effortless pass and it was done. Loved it. |

| Answer: | The blades are 4 1/2" long. I haven't tried everything out there on the market, but I'm a 65 year old landscaper, and when I move my tired bones up or down a slope to get a tool to cut landscape netting I want to get a tool that is functionally dependable. These are those. |

I also purchased "Fiskars" smaller model for those times that 9-inches is overkill. And . . . I highly recommend either model. |

| Answer: | These are usually for cutting material for sewing but I am sure they would cut duct tape. I didn't know there were special ones for that |

| Answer: | I just received these scissors. I am left-handed and do not find them designed to fit my left hand. The handles are beveled to fit a right hand specifically. If you are only going to use this product for the occasional snip, it's probably all right. Any prolonged use with the left hand will leave dents on the thumb. |

I have found them to be very versatile and effective scissors, able to cut things both thin and soft as well as tough, but the task you describe is one for large shears with big handles and considerable leverage. Neither your hands nor the scissors would enjoy cutting builders' grade carpet with these fine tools. |

| Answer: | The scissors won't stick to the sheets. They cut really sticky tape without sticking so I'm sure they'd cut laminated sheets without sticking. |

| Question: | I've used scissors before that are "stiff". Is it easy to move the blade from open to closed and vise versa |
| Answer: | Since I use these for food I wash the blades and oil the screw with canola oil. If you don't use it for food oil it with WD-40. Spray the screw and the open and close fast til it smoothly opens a closes. Then just wipe it with a paper towel. When ever it gets sticky cutting tape etc wd-40 will clean that off as well. |

| Answer: | Fiskars 12-9653 6984 Titanium Nitride 9" Shop Shears would be better in my opinion. I have both and use the 8 in as a kitchen utility shears and the 9 in in the garage. Neither would work for a carpet layer who wants to cut lots of carpet on a daily basis. For a homeowner the 9 in would do a quick trim. A utility knife is my go to carpet cutting tool. |

| Answer: | I did a little research and found the Fisker 8 inch is made in China. They used to be made in the US bot not sany more. |
