In such case, the glue may scratch off tiny pieces of the tissue paper, leaving some of the tissue fibres on the surface. To conclude, this is a superglue and it can leave a white residue. My previous experiences with other finishes were all failures when I tried to carry them in my hot sweat soaked South Carolina pockets. I switched to a Starbond CA glue finish and it has held up 100% to all of my normal carrying. I have never tried to submerge them but in all of my normal carrying in wet nasty pockets all day the finish seems impervious to the elements. I did have one pen suffer some minimal deterioration when I lost it in the grass and recovered it a month later after it sat in the grass through a month of thunderstorms. Hope this helps. John |

The wood/metal CA glue bond can break easily under stress if the metal is not etched or roughened first. Porous surface to smooth non-porous surface bonds are only as strong as the shear strength of the glue itself. CA glues are stiff, brittle. Wood to metal bonds with a flexible adhesive such as silicone caulk are much stronger under load or flexion. |

| Answer: | It will shine up nicely. Many woodturners use a CA glue as a finish on pens and small turned items. You may have to play to see if this thick gel works better than a medium viscosity for your use. Play a little. BTW. Starbond is a really nice, high quality glue. If you dont need to have it cure quickly dont use an accelerator with it. An accelerator can sometimes introduce small bubbles into the glue that would ruin the finish you are looking for. |

Clamp objects for 30–60 minutes. For best results, allow 24 hours to cure. If you need to remove any uncured “squeeze out” or wet glue, we recommend wiping with a dry cloth or using a standard paint thinner. Once the glue is dry, it is best removed mechanically: Try sanding, chiseling, scraping or picking. After each use, wipe lid and nozzle clean with a dry cloth. In regards to wood glue that is unsafe for pets; Be sure to avoid glues that foam as they dry, like Gorilla Glue and other polyurethane glues (avoid any glue that contains diphenylmethane diisocyanate - also known as MDI - as the active ingredient). The reason is there is not enough surface area to create a strong bond, also CA glues do not act as a solvent which will melt the surfaces and create an almost welded repair. I would think those little prongs are made from ABS plastic and you can get glue from a local hardware store that is made to glue ABS piping together. It is solvent based and may be your best bet. There are some flexible CA glues available that may survive the flexing, but not sure. Hope this helps. |

| Answer: | I use this for a lot of things. Every so often I end up accidentally gluing my finger to something or something to my finger nails. It glues wood, metal and lots of other stuff to my fingernails really well. So, while I haven't purposely glued tips on my nails, I would expect it to work unless the tips are teflon or something like that. If you don't use accelerator you will have a very very short time to position the tips on your nails. With accelerator, you will have almost no time to reposition. You might find that the Thick version might work better. It will stay in place better and give you a little more time for positioning if you need it. Wear eye protection when working with this. Edit: CA glue is not suitable for filling gaps. The tip would have to have good surface contact with your nail for this glue to really bond it. |

I like the gel version as well...THAT one you have to be careful because when you put it on it is activated by a tiny drop of water causing it to foam and fill in the space. If you put too much you end up with a bit of fuzzy white dry glue which is easily cut away. The gel actually worked better for resetting soles in shoes. Hope this helps. |
