The one I bought is such that, you must hold the thing you're looking at about four inches from your face, within a couple of inches one way or the other, which is awkward. Especially since this unit does not offer separation adjustment so the odds of you getting stereo vision with it are not good.

If you are examining proofs, higher grade circulated or uncirculated gold & silver coins, or 1840-1857 US Large copper cents look for a 10X magnifier with quality glass, distortion-free lenses.

Answer:	I believe this is the better buy. A box of 300 wipes will last me around 6 months but twords the end the packets start drying out. If you've never used one you've probably seen people in movies looking at diamonds with a big monocle in one eye and a diamond an inch or two from his face.

Because, you know, physics and stuff. You get a crud load of loupes that let you go hands free and don't have to squnich your eye around a plastic ring. It's a good deal.

Comfort was fine,not to heavy for your face , used them for working on minature toys and and hobbies , able to see inside a whole less than a millimeter in diameter to align it with another hole less than half a millimeter and get them aligned to within 0.02mm.

The magnification is truly 5x for large lens and 10x for smaller lens and it was the best magnifiers that I bought for coin collecting and I have tried the cheaper ones and they are worthless. With the 5x lens I was able to easily see dates on my penny collection. This is a good buy!
