Answer:	Yes you can open and close jump rings with the pliers. You can reshape some jump rings with the round nose pliers also.

Answer:	The handles fit perfectly in my hands...so I would say like 3 inches. They work, but I had to get a bigger pair for squeezing the rings back shut, the on in this set just doesn't work FOR ME. If you have small hands, they might work better for you, but if you have large hands I would suggest a larger set.

Answer:	I can use these pliers on any gauge wire, including 28 gauge. This is the best pair of pliers I've ever owned. I have all 6 of the Wubbers round bail making pliers, but I use these almost exclusively. They close down tight, I guess I would say there's no gap.
