Answer:	Their easily twisted off but also because the posts seem to be on the long side for those with thicker earlobes. (at least thats my experience with my thick earlobes). also due to the fact that it's a twist off, if something snags on the earring, their not going to pop off out of safety like a butterfly backing. They'll likely just rip your ear. Which seeing how active kids are, might be a huge concern for the company.

Answer:	possibly, they grip the post. Do be careful though because I've lost two of my better gold earrings using these. I followed the drections to the letter, only to find that in the evening I reached up to take them off on two occasions, one was missing. If these earrings have a lot of sentimental value to you, I may not trust these unless you check them every few minutes.
Question:	What are they made of
Answer:	They are made of plastic and metal. There is a plastic piece that makes contact with your ear and on the back side there is a small metal piece that is set in grooves. This allows the metal piece to be pinched to release the stem of your earrings.
Question:	What metal are the backings made of
Answer:	I am not sure but the part that touches your skin in plastic. The plastic is molded into the metal backing. I am sensitive to different things and these have been great for me. I love them, they work on all posts.
Question:	do you need to buy anything else with these
Answer:	No. There are 2 pairs in the package - one silver and one gold, although you cannot even see the color of the metal. The only thing I would do different (and I may), is buy a second set. They are worth it.

The Threaded Post and Backing

Our Lovearing screw back earrings have ball backing that is kept from lessening the chance to lose the earring or have it detached easily. The ball backing is closed in the back so it protects you and your children's ear from the post poking out.

Chrysmela provides very secure protection of most earrings with straight posts, including screw/threaded posts.  As described in our brochure and online product pages, an earring is released when Chrysmela is unlocked by pulling the end plate with fingernails.    Do you think your baby may figure out how to unlock chrysmela,  either unintentionally or intentionally?    Chrysmela is hypoallergenic.   However, if the earring itself and the post are not hypoallergenic, it may cause a little irritation and makes the wearer to rub the earlobes and accidentally unlock Chrysmela. I wore my first pair without the disc for a year and loved it however one day while taking it off it slipped out of my hands and fell down my sink drain. My second pair I got the disc so that if it did slip it wouldn't fall down my drain. I think they are comfortable with or without the disc. You won't regret the purchase
