Answer:	This DOES need hard wiring. It also needs a cord wired to it. The toggle switches kept burning out, so we re-wired with a 30-amp switch and it seems to be working very well so far! Hope that helps!

If you've done that, confirm you have sufficient water pressure to meet the unit's requirements. Answer:	I don’t think the loud noise means the auger is going out, but I have had mine for less than a year, and it is working great. It is noisy, but it has to break up frozen ice and let drop into cup.

Question:	Can I keep ice in the ice maker
Answer:	There are only 2 sizes and both are still fairly small. The biggest is about 1” tall by 3/4” round.

Answer:	There is no drawer. The only way to access the ice is through the lid on the top. This is the case with every portable ice maker I have seen. I love this ice maker!
