Answer:	The white stuff in a regular ice cube is generally trapped air. Regular ice molds freeze from every direction, so the air gets trapped in the middle, and you have a big white air bubble and less dense ice. The insulating foam ensures that the cold is only hitting the water from 1 direction - in this case, from the top. So the ice freezes from the top down. Any air or other impurities gets pushed further and further down as the ice forms slowly from top down. There's hole in the bottom of the sphere mold that allows that air to be pushed out of the sphere altogether, into the reservoir at the bottom. That's why the spheres are clear, but the ice at the bottom is cloudy. So yes, in short, the insulating foam is necessary. Without it, the ice would freeze from every direction.

Question:	Has anyone tried making cubes and then storing them in a ziplock In the freezer for future use? Do they stay clear and for how long
Answer:	Mine are always perfect... I assemble it, fill the compartments with tap water, rap the sides to purge bubbles from the lower compartments, let sit several minutes (30-60), rap sides again, place in freezer, top off the water levels, don’t disturb for 36 hours, remove from freezer and remove perfect cubes!
Question:	Does anyone have tips for making a perfect square? My cubes come out lopsided. The box appears to be even when placed in freezer
Answer:	It is easier when you take out the inner silicone mold w/ ice... flip it over and run warm water onto the mold till you feel it give. Loosen the ice from the mold by twisting, then press your finger on the backside of each cube. I use a bowl to catch the ice so it doesn't slide across the counter. Then place any ice we don't use into a zip lock bag, then another zip lock bag, so it doesn't take on the taste of our frozen marinara sauce sitting next to it... (or any other frozen food).

Answer:	This happened to me when I used 100% tap water (granted, the water where I live is EXTREMELY hard). I used distilled water to get clear cubes and spheres, BUT there were some ugly air bubble streaks inside. After trying out different methods (boil and cool the water, double-boil the water, use hot tap water, etc.), different ratios (100% tap water, 100% distilled water, 50/50 ratio, etc.), an even different freezer temperatures (0-degrees, 5-degrees, etc.), here is what worked for me: ~80% distilled water, ~20% tap water, heat to a gentle boil, allow to cool for 30 minutes, pour into the Glacio tub, and place into a 5-degree freezer. Yes, it took a while to find my ideal settings, but now that I know what works for me, making crystal-clear ice cubes/spheres is a breeze. You may need to play around with different ratios of water, prep (hot tap vs boiling), and freezer temps, but once you find the ideal settings you'll get crystal clear ice every time.

Answer:	The instructions are actually on the outside of the box. There is still an issue with them as you are told to fill the inside of the box to the "Fill Line", but there's not one I could find. Also, after you take the rubber ice molds out, there's ice on the bottom that doesn't melt, because the box is insulated! That means you're having to pour and waste WAY too much water at the start. I'll be contacting the seller about this.

Answer:	The outer layer is styrofoam, so if used as intended I d say it is sturdy and I have no concerns about it lasting.

Every combination of water I could come up with and nothing improved the performance of this product. The ice balls are very cloudy and not what I was expecting. The mold itself is not tall enough to trap the air bubbles under the mold. If you want crystal clear ice balls, buy a different product.

Each ice ology tray features a lower and upper silicone mold. To use, fill the lower tray with tap water, and lower the upper silicone mold into place. During the freezing process (12 hours/overnight), bubbles and impurities filter to the bottom of the tray, leaving crystal clear ice in the ice molds! Answer:	The only thing this works with is water. The ice cubes work the same as any others and may be used for any drink. Just makes crystal clear ice cubes (and works quite well)

Answer:	The actual cubes are 1.75" each. The overall product dimension is 9" long x 4.25" wide x 5.5" Tall.

Answer:	I have never actually ran it for 24 hours straight I was within three or four hours it fills my ice tray in my freezer. If I had to guess at least 20 pounds of ice

Answer:	Yes, has an “On /Off” switch and also a timer so you can let it run for a set amount of time. And if it runs out of water, or the ice area gets filled, it stops as well.
Question:	Can you turn it off when not in use without unplugging it from the outlet
Answer:	Sounds like there isn't enough water in there. Is the mold level in the freezer? I lower the mold gently into the tray to make sure no air pockets form. If you over fill it a bit, you can break off the little ice tabs that form with a dinner knife. I love mine, I hope you get this to work.

Answer:	As long as it is covered pretty well. It would not be good to leave it exposed to the rain. Ours is outside but under a roof.
