Answer:	The EW4836BLS requires a 6" duct. It can be routed throught wall, or vented to the outside through the roof. Since this is a convertiable unit, it can be installed as a non-ducted model with the use of a non-duct kit, model ARKEW48, whick is mandatory for non-ducted installations. Answer:	I’ve had this happen too. I think it has to do with the warmth of your finger when you press it. I have had success warming up my hand and trying again. I’d suggest also rereading the manual because the panel has unusual features.

Answer:	This fan allows cooking fumes to pass through a grease filter and a thin replaceable activated charcoal filter. It cannot absorb large amounts of cooking odors or smoke. You need a fan that is ducted to the outside to effectively remove cooking odors and smoke.

Answer:	That's correct. The air flows through the filter on the underside and out through the three columns of vent slats you see on the front of the range hood. There is no connection to other vents or ducts in a wall or through the roof.

Answer:	I'm not sure what your setup is, but when I did mine, I hardwired the hood into the existing black and white wires that were used in the old hood. Chances are that if you don't have the pre wired design that I had, you will need a power cord kit if you plan to physically plug the unit into a traditional wall socket.

Answer:	yes it is. Actually it is a little bit less and fit my tract house construction standards house perfectly. The gap was 30 inches and it fit. It has a rectagulr exhaust port atnthe rear. I had to get an adapter to transition to my original round vent to roof.
