Answer:	This fan allows cooking fumes to pass through a grease filter and a thin replaceable activated charcoal filter. It cannot absorb large amounts of cooking odors or smoke. You need a fan that is ducted to the outside to effectively remove cooking odors and smoke.
Question:	Hi, the specification says it is 30 inch. My old range is actually 29.75 inch. Has anyone actually measured the exact length? 30 inch won't fit

Answer:	That's correct. The air flows through the filter on the underside and out through the three columns of vent slats you see on the front of the range hood. There is no connection to other vents or ducts in a wall or through the roof.

Answer:	I'm not sure what your setup is, but when I did mine, I hardwired the hood into the existing black and white wires that were used in the old hood. Chances are that if you don't have the pre wired design that I had, you will need a power cord kit if you plan to physically plug the unit into a traditional wall socket.

Open the unit by removing the two mesh filters and locate the switch in the middle of the fan unit. Remove the screw with a Phillips screwdriver.

Change Switch Position

Change the switch position to the ductless position which allows the exhaust to flow out of the front vent. Replace screw with Phillips screwdriver.

Add Charcoal Filter (Part # CFK4)

For this step, you will need Part # CFK4 Carbon Filter Kit, sold separately. Place the charcoal filter on top of the middle piece and screw into place. Replace mesh filters and your range hood is now ductless!

Answer:	This is one of the highest flow hoods I have found. That was a 3-4 year search. There are three settings. You can talk over the lowest 2 settings in a normal voice. Yes, the fan is loud but not noisy. It is an appropriate fan sound, no rattles or chattering. Just a smooth hum from the fan blades moving air. You can reduce the sound level slightly be removing the protective grill.

Answer:	Yes, press the light button to turn it on. Next, press and hold the light button to set it to your desired brightness and then release the button, this set the LED to a dimmer level. Thanks.

Answer:	Hi John, I am not sure at what heat it will turn on however it does have a thermostat which will turn on the fan or increase the fan speed from low to high when excessive heat is detected. I think it may be best to contact the manufacturer to ask what temperature threshold it is configured to turn on. I was able to find more information on the HEAT SENTRY system at Broan's Website in the instructions manual on page 3. Answer:	I measure 29 and 7/8ths to 29 15/16th. We're in the range that the accuracy or consistency of tape measures is critical variable.If you took a standard 30" hood out you should be just fine. Even so nearly everything should fit in standard openings. With these sizes you're talking about, a lot depends on the "squareness" of the hole because you don't have a lot of clearance to work with.I'd say to go ahead and order--the odds are way in your favor--and you can always return it--just fit it in before doing all the other installation things.Glad to help.

Answer:	They store these parts inside the hood, just remove the intake grills to access.

Answer:	Yes, but is a little on the loud side and it moves a lot of air. The only issue was a small dent during shipping.
Question:	I purchased this and am trying to use it as ductless. I have installed the carbon filter, however it is still vending upwards. How can I fix this
Answer:	After the charcoal filter is installed, the oil fumes will be filtered out and discharged into the room. Please Note: 1. If the carbon filter is installed, there is no need to install the air outlet (the picture I attached). 2. The air volume will be reduced a lot after installing the carbon filter.
