Question:	Does it get rid of kitchen smoke...that's what I need. My kitchen doesn't have an exhaust fan and every time I cook it smokes up the house
Answer:	This fan allows cooking fumes to pass through a grease filter and a thin replaceable activated charcoal filter. It cannot absorb large amounts of cooking odors or smoke. You need a fan that is ducted to the outside to effectively remove cooking odors and smoke.
Question:	Hi, the specification says it is 30 inch. My old range is actually 29.75 inch. Has anyone actually measured the exact length? 30 inch won't fit
Answer:	30" with a measuring tape.
Question:	Non-Ducted range Hood, does this mean there is no need to vent up thru the roof or out thru the wall
Answer:	That's correct. The air flows through the filter on the underside and out through the three columns of vent slats you see on the front of the range hood. There is no connection to other vents or ducts in a wall or through the roof.
Question:	I will be plugging the rangehood into the wall, will I need a power cord kit
Answer:	I'm not sure what your setup is, but when I did mine, I hardwired the hood into the existing black and white wires that were used in the old hood. Chances are that if you don't have the pre wired design that I had, you will need a power cord kit if you plan to physically plug the unit into a traditional wall socket.

Question:	How well does this unit absorb grease
Answer:	This unit is ductless, so it is not vented to the outside. As such, it is not designed to remove grease. The charcoal filter that is used to absorb orders will collect grease. If you do a lot of cooking that generates a lot of grease, the charcoal filter will need to be changed more often.
Question:	Does it attach only at the top? We only have an open valance over the stove. Can it be attached by the sides/back
Answer:	We have a shelf over our range so we were able to attach it through the holes in the top,but it also has four holes in the back so it can be attached to the wall.

Answer:	The F402401 is 24" x 17.5" x 6". Any other dimension listed would be incorrect.

Answer:	I measure 29 and 7/8ths to 29 15/16th. We're in the range that the accuracy or consistency of tape measures is critical variable.If you took a standard 30" hood out you should be just fine. Even so nearly everything should fit in standard openings. With these sizes you're talking about, a lot depends on the "squareness" of the hole because you don't have a lot of clearance to work with.I'd say to go ahead and order--the odds are way in your favor--and you can always return it--just fit it in before doing all the other installation things.Glad to help.

Answer:	Our Range Hoods are not tested and rated in decibels, only in Sones. The sound of a BCDF130SS at 1.2 Sones would sound similar to that of a running refrigerator.

Answer:	It it is installed as a non-ducted hood, then yes. If it is installed as a ducted hood, then no.
Question:	I see lot of reviews complaining they received the item dented or with some scratches ? Are these cheaply made or it’s the poor packaging problem
Answer:	I have owned this item for one year. I ordered this on line. It was delivered and was in excellent condition. The packaging and the contents were in good order. I am happy I ordered this unit. It has been and excellent addition to my kitchen.

Question:	What power cord do I need to buy for this range hood
Answer:	It is hard wired in. You need to run Romex out through a hole in your drywall 3/4" to the right of the ducting. It's explained in detail in the installation instruction.
Question:	I just purchased this hood. Are there any other parts that are required to install it fully
Answer:	Electric wiring with connectors, electric tape. If venting out, vent pipes of the correct size, duct tape, self-tapping metal screws to attach to the hood. Size is in the dimensions that come with the hood. Ducting depends on where it is going, but there are examples of what is correct. Light bulb is usually not included, be sure not to get a hot type or above the rating for your hood. 4 x mounting screws for mounting the hood under the cabinet, larger flat head type with a good thread that won't pierce through the bottom of the cabinet mounting surface, but have a head large enough to hold the hood in place. It has larger round holes with smaller slots so you can get the hood on and off without unscrewing them all the way. If you have to cut for the vent, you will need a hole saw or jigsaw, drill a hole to get the blade started and try not to cut larger than required for venting. Secure the pipes with a simple strap. Remember that the grease screen only catches a portion of the grease, so you will need to be able to access the pipes in the future for cleaning. Do not share the output with any other flammable chimney space like a wood or gas burning chimney. The ducts should be self-contained and accessible. If you are just circulating the air from this hood like a fan, you should be prepared to clean the grease trap screen and hood often with TSP or some other grease cutting cleaner on a regular basis. The shorter the distance to the outside, the easier it will be to keep clean. Follow the wiring guide and make sure things are properly grounded and connected safely. If you don't feel comfortable with it, don't do it.
