Answer:	I would not think it would, it's felt, not made for heat protection. I ordered mine to cover and protect the glass top of our stove.

Question:	Can this gas stove be used in an indoor area
Answer:	Mine fit very tightly too - no gap at all. I have an electric range and the top lifts for cleaning under the burners. Because the strips are magnetic, when I lift the top the strips come with it. However, be aware, that if you've spilled anything sugary and it landed on the strip, it still can seep down and cause the magnetic strip to really stick to the stove top. I've had to use a sturdy paring knife at times to gently separate the two. If you have a stove top that doesn't lift, I would try prying the strip up at 2" intervals using a flat head screw driver or paring or butter knife. Good luck!

Answer:	I am responding to a previous inappropriate response. The person complained that crumbs still fell between the stove and counter. That person needs to know that if they have a gap wider than 1/2", this isn't the correct product and products called "gap fillers" might have been better for her. I am buying this product because I only have a small 1/8-1/4" gap and didn't want the really wide gap filler models. Regarding the original question, I believe it says 24" long which can be trimmed but this is the black only version. Other ads for a while version.
