Answer:	"Septic safe" on the box means it won't corrode pipes and concrete (tank). That misses the essential element, will it disturb the ecology of the tank (kill the bacteria that are essential for septic operation). Caustic materials like drain cleaner are very bad for your septic, bleach not so bad probably because of the dilution in the washer. I am relating here the information conveyed to me by my county department of licenses and inspection septic system expert and a licensed septic inspector. So the anlswer depends on the materials used, which are not stated anywhere. 7 months is not sufficient time to evaluate. You don't want to learn after three years that you've poisoned the system and clogged the drainage field, requiring a $8,000 to $10,000 job to replace something that should have lasted 40 years. Here's what's in it according to the safety data sheet supplied by Whirlpool via Home Depot: Polyoxy(methyl-1,2-ethanediyl), a-hydro-w-hydroxy- 1% Sodium Carbonate Peroxyhydrate 50% - 70% Boric Acid 20% - 30% Sodium Carbonate 20% - 30% Tetrasodium EDTA 1% Most of these are found in everyday laundry detergent. Tetrasodium EDTA is a preservative. The long weird name stuff is the joker in the mix, perhaps more research is needed. I'm not sure I will risk using this in my washer, as I try to take good care of my septic system. Answer:	Since I have a Maytag HE washer and have used this product with excellent success. I would say yes. Answer:	If the bag is full and the trash inside is compact, normal kitchen bags will rip on the way out. This is my one complaint with this unit. I switched to using trash compactor bags with it and have not had any rips since.

Answer:	Yes I bought two of the AC adapters and have them plugged in. They work great and no batteries to change. There is an add-on for these at about $19 each.. keep shopping/looking, I found the same ones for about $6 each and they work perfect. They simply plug in the back. I have 2 cans side by side- 1 is for recycling... and a small multi strip behind the cans to plug in. Work great!
Question:	can you lock the lid when you leave the house because of a curious dog
Answer:	Yes. There is a small lever that you can swing over the front lip of the door so it mechanically locks it closed. It does MOT however stop the motor from trying to open it if the sensor sees movement on front of it. There seems to be a clutch inside though because it didn't grind gears or break anything when I did this to test it. However... I imagine after a while of this it would damage it. However there IS a power switch on the back to make the motor NOT try to open it. If this is off you can still lift the lid though unless you use the first mentioned lever on the front (mechanical lock)

Answer:	I bought this in 2007, and left a review sometime in '08-'09 about how much I loved this trash can. We are still using the same one and have only had to change the batteries a few times (in 12 years). The only reason I'm buying a new one today is because my kids were messing around the other day and slammed the lid shut, breaking the gear. I just hope my new one can last as long as my first one did (who knows how much longer it could have gone if my kids hadn't busted it)!

Answer:	Tervis is a known quality product. I own a number of them. They are dishwasher safe, and lids are too. The applique is located within the wall of the mug, so it never sees the water. Never have I had any lid leak, even after years of dishwasher use. I hate the mugs that have lids that leak. This one does not...so I am collecting them.

Answer:	You could just use the top filter by itself as a strainer to pour hot water through. But it wouldn’t hold much in the way of tea leaves as it is rather shallow. The top part is what rests at the top of the mug so it doesn’t need the bottom part of the infuser screwed on below it.

Question:	do these fit the viking trash compactor
Answer:	Just checking to see if they did fit the Viking FCU150, which is the 15” compactor?
Question:	What are the dimensions in inches or centimers of the bags themselves? All of the picutres show the BACK side of the box without that critical info
Answer:	The bottom is 15" which fits the compactor with an 18" circumference. The length of the bag is 34" and allows for a 7" fold-over. The circumference of the bag all opened up is 57". There are 2 sets of holes for each of the 4 tabs to attach to the bag to prevent sliding back into the trash. They are very durable and also prevent odors.
Question:	Does anyone know the thickness in mil's. The Costco bag referenced is only 2 mil
Answer:	Whirlpool bags are 2.5 mils. I never throw anything like cans or glass or food scraps and have never had a bag split or cut in 19 years using these bags

Answer:	They have 8 of them—2 on each side of each corner. They are x-shaped slits that you stretch over the buttons on the compactor.
