Otherwise, it may have a faulty sensor as to when the ice is frozen enough to dump. No other ideas come to mind. |

| Answer: | The "model number" lfss2612tp0 does not seem to be a Frigidaire product. The Frigidaire web site using this as the model number states: "You entered an invalid model number, please try again." The Frigidaire web site has instructions on how to find your refrigerator model number. Once you have a "good" model number than you can determine what ice maker and which ice maker parts will work with your refrigerator. FWIW, I replaced this part on my ice maker and it didn't work correctly for very long (I had difficulty getting the screws to "seat" completely, leaving it less stable than I would have preferred). Eventually I replaced the complete ice maker "tray" assembly (which this is a part of). That solved the problems with the this part. Unfortunately, a few weeks after using the tray assembly, the dispenser/crusher stopped functioning because the motor (in the bottom of the actual ice maker assembly) no longer could turn the dispenser "coil" ... I'm shopping for a "good" refrigerator and I will not ever buy another Frigidaire appliance ever again. The "Gallery" line (apparently sold to building contractors) of appliances that came with my new home (now 8 years old) are all lousy. The dishwasher leaked (causing $10,000 damage to hardwood floors because the builder was too cheap to install a $25 catch pan under the DW). The refrigerator Ice Maker has been a pain almost from the beginning. The separate Oven makes a racket with an internal fan (that requires major disassembly to repair). So far the Microwave has been OK and the cooktop is also OK. But I'm overall not at all impressed with the craftsmanship or quality of the Frigidaire appliances. You'll be better off to get a new refrigerator. |
