Answer:	As per the manual, you need to run a bunch of water through the filter to clear charcoal sentiment. The exact procedure I follow is:1. Turn off ice maker (to prevent water from running into it)2. Change water filter. It is not necessary to turn water off first, but be careful as there will be water in the filter you remove.3. With a pitcher collect water from the door until the water is clear and appears drinkable (maybe 2-3 gallons typically).4. Turn ice maker back on.5. Reset water filter light.

Answer:	I am not sure where Amazon is getting these things from but they are complete junk! I had purchased 2. The first one cracked all along the side leaking water after only 2 months. I thought I must have got a lemon so I put the other one in. 2 week is all it lasted before the entire filter snapped off from the head flooding our kitchen! I am so mad right now with Amazon. I will NEVER purchase another water filter off Amazon. Please spend the extra money and just get it direct from you refrigerator manufacturer so you know for sure it’s authentic and the quality is up to spec. Amazon should be ashamed of themselves selling this junk.
