Evaporative Humidifiers use a fan to blow dry room air through an evaporative wick filter. This wick filter sits inside the base of the humidifier, absorbing the water inside. When the fan blows air through the wick filter, the water in the wick filter evaporates and is distributed into the room in the form of humidified air. While this method uses no heating element, and therefore uses very little electricity to run, it does require regular replacement of the wick filters. There is also a possibility of mold, bacteria and fungi to grow on the paper-based wick as it sits in the water. There are bacteria treatments and antibacterial cartridges available which can be added to the water tanks to help prevent the growth of bacteria, but eventually the wick needs to be replaced with a new one. Answer:	I wouldn’t recommend it - the reservoir is just plastic and, depending how how the water is, it may warp it or the center piece that holds the filter. It also wouldn’t stay hot for long - it’d be like filling a plastic cup full of hot water.

Answer:	It just fits into the bottom of the humidifier. Just take the tank off, put the cartridge on the bottom of the humidifier, it fits in with the little indent over the protrusion of the bottom of the humidifier. Then fill the tank with water and put it on the base as you normally do. Wait a little while and the water will drain into the bottom and fill the cartridge. Do not run the humidifier until the cartridge has filled with water.

It was a tiny bit big but I wetted it before putting it in & after putting my machine back together I pushed down on the top of my machine & it pushed the top of it down & not a problem! It works great!! I had read other reviews which made me a bit apprehensive to try this product But I am glad I did! The Price is Right and it works great. . I did read one of the reviews that said they trimmed the top of theirs with scissors to make it fit better. I thought if they could trim it I could too. But I didn't have to. all I had to do was wet it down put it in and push and it fit. Usually when you buy a wider one they are taller as well. I hope this helped.

Answer:	Yes you do. It’s a great humidifier, but you have to clean it once a week with H2O2 including the spinner, in other words, not easy. If you don’t clean it, it stops putting moisture in the air and gunk builds up. All humidifiers that I know of have to be cleaned regularly. If you find one that doesn’t, please let me know. 😊
